Anyone played Callander GC

Going on a sweep outing tomorrow to Callander GC and was wondering what to expect. I have looked on their website and noticed that if we play off the boxes there is a run of 9 holes with 7 par three's and 2 par 4's (Oh joy). You can take from that that it was booked by one of the old codgers who hits the ball nowhere and has a 24 handicap.

Anyone played there?

It's short and quirky but usually in decent condition.

Its a nice enough track and a great venue for an outing.

My dad played there a few years back and said he couldn't fault it. It was a great place to stop off, before an overnight stay, during a long trip further north.

I have never hit as many long irons in all my life. Played the par 3's well and played the rest of the round well until the last 3 holes when I had three 3 putts. Just hit the ball to the wrong side of the hole on those ocassions. I won the shield for the morning round and struggled in the heat during the afternoon round (Finished about 3rd or 4th).

Really nice course for an outing and great catering from the friendly staff. I would go there again but I don't think I could play there week in week out.
