Anybody played at Belton woods (Devere)

Looking at a break in march with the wife and its got to have a golf course and she like the look off the spa, has
anybody played or stayed there? whats it like plz

Courses are fairly typical resort courses, decent nick reasonable challenge. Lakes course is the better and more challenging of the two to my mind. Hotel is very nice, beer and food very exensive. Decent restaurants in Grantham, if you end up going PM me what you are looking for and I can recommend a few.

Went there about 6 weeks ago.

The hotel is pleasant enough and we ate in the restaurant and thought it was better than expected.

As for the golf, 2 decent enough courses, though it gets a lot of traffic and also gets very dry in the summer, when we were there the fairways were so dry and bare and it was pick and place because of it. Finding a quietish time can be difficult too and it often means pace of play is slow, especially so on weekends (pro shop said 5 hrs is the norm on a saturday).

One thing with regards to the golf is try and get some devere vouchers, i played 2 rounds for free on these vouchers (either look on ebay or ask on the forum to see if anyone got spares)

The hotel looks like a converted Tesco/shopping centre! And the drinks were very expensive from memory

Played Lakes in the summer and shot 9 over. Not that it matters to you, but I was happy

It's a nice course, long enough but open too so you can have a go, definitely pick up a course planner at the pro shop, there's only a 150 marker on any fairway and the planner is excellently done. Plenty of water around so be prepared to lay up/go for the safe part of the green cos pin-seekers can be severely punished.

And whatever you do, get a sausage bap from the starter cabin, they are flippin lush.
