And attended a Rememberance service this morning...

Walked down to our local memorial with a couple of my neighbours this morning to join the few...

Bit dis-appointing to see how few are willing to give up a few minutes of their busy lives to acknowledge those that gave their lives for us to be able to live in a reasonably 'free society'...

Didnt go out anywhere. Donated a few quid last week to get poppies for my three girls though. There are different ways of showing support and appreciation.

I was playing in our Winter League, the club does sound a hooter at 11.00 though so players can mark the two minutes slience and I have to say I was impressed by the two young twenty somethings we were playing against who were very keen to make sure they didn't miss it, checkng their watches as the time drew nearer.

I was outside Morrisons and most respected the 2 mins.
Good to see the youngsters joining in.
The only ones who carried on seemed to be middle aged smartly dressed suit/poppy wearers.

I donate but choose not to wear a poppy. I think the BBC have done a huge disservice to the poppy appeal IMHO.

Martin's done a bit for h4h over the years ... Well done.

Yeah, always make time to go down to memorial, use to always take daughter and if i was working being in the fire service always go down on the pump, and have noticed over the years that there are more n more turning up showing their respect which is great to see.....

Was in the local Tesco getting something for HID's migraine. Deeply impressed how many (99%) stopped, put their shopping down and stood still and quiet. It isn't a huge store but was strangely surprised. Two minutes out of everyone's life once a year isn't too much to ask to for those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Always.
Me grandad, a former LF in the great war, first took me at 4years old.
If i wasnt present at a service either through cubs, scouts, brass band, service etc: then i've stopped what i was doing. As Homer so rightly says its only 2 minutes.
Remember even if you are against the armed services and everything you think they represent, you are allowed the luxury of that opinion thanks to the sacrifice of countless brave men and women.
May they rest in peace WW.

Played this morning and wore my poppy pin badge and stopped at 11 for two minute silence. I prefer to visit the memorials in my own time, without the hullabaloo, and say a personal thank you.

Seems to be a trend of using the death of others to promote the Blog!
