Played a round today, found the conditions quite difficult.I managed to find some tees which were high enough to allow me to hit the ball. The main problem was putting i could not get the pace or line...Any suggestions or tips might which might help me next time..

Quite simply - stay in the 19th. Why would you want to bother even trying to play let alone putt in these conditions. I went to Maidenhead Golf Centre this afternoon to try and rearrange a lesson. It's still got lying snow everywhere and yet people were still hitting balls. What are you achieving? No sense of distance, frozen mats and balls, and the light was that eerie sort of shimmering grey which made following the ball really hard.

If you can't beat it, join it. I'm going out to make a snow angel on the patio. :p

Stay at home and listen to REM's best albums (Murmur, Green, Automatic FTP and Accelerate) whilst drinking tea and reading a good book.

Snow is God's way of saying that we all play way too much golf in the summer.

Orange balls in snow. Stand out better.

Make sure the hip flask is full of something warming, like a nice Malt Whisky. I supose you could also take some coffee too.

Hand warmers are a must as well as wrapping up warm.

This time of year its really an excuse for a walk than really playing golf, so hit the ball, get to the green , make one putt, if it doesn't go in, then count as two putts & then move on.

This year I've not been tempted at all to golf in the snow, but it can be a rewarding experience, just so long as its treated as Target Practice & a walk out in the fresh air. No more.
