Any Driving Instructors on here?

Daughter was meant to sit her test a couple of weeks ago but it got cancelled obv. It has been rescheduled for mid-July.

How likely is that to happen, and any idea when instructors are likely to be allowed to start giving lessons again?

Test have been suspended until 20 June at the moment.
Nothing has been confirmed by the governing bodies but word in the industry is that we wont be going back to work until 4th July at the earliest.
That doesn't give much time for the kids to get back to standard- they wont have driven for 3 months...
Any 2nd wave of CV19 and those dates will almost certainly be pushed back
As to whether any PPE will be required - who knows.
We should hear something soon from DVSA because they're getting a lot of earache from us about it.
I consider us to be of a similar standing, Social distancing wise , to hairdressers as it's a 1-2-1 thing in close proximity
They've been told the 4th July at the earliest.
Whether they take into account those with tests so soon after we get back - don't hold your breath. Ideally we would go back a month before tests restart......yeah right.
If I get anything more concrete I'll back on here....

Thanks for that. Her new date is 15th July, am thinking we might be best rescheduling that now, and pushing it back a month or so, presumably that's easy to do?

Also, with things being eased as of today, any reason I can't start taking her back out for informal lessons?

The test booking system isnt available at the moment so you cant change anything yet as far as I'm aware and I'm waiting on an enquiry about the 2nd part because I could take my boy out...,et you know asap.

Surely people in the same household wouldn’t be a problem.

Although a L plate driver out might attract the attention of the local rozzers
