Smiffy had a Raleigh Metro that had a basket fixed to the handlebars and a 3 speed Sturmy Archer gear hub. I'm sure that he won't mind sharing his experiences ....

Honda VFR800i. I know an oldie like me should not be doing it but the buzz and awesome acceleration is adictive. Those of you who never have, have no conception what it's like. Robbest, had a go on a fireblade; what a machine.

Had three VFR's. A 750FP, 800FiY and a VTEC. Favourite was the FiY. Finally swapped the VTEC for a brand new Kawasaki ZZR1200 but hated the bloody thing. Only had it 6 months and swapped it (plus a bit of cash) with a mate for a ZZR1400 he had just bought but didn't like 'cos it was too fast for him. Loved that bike, best bike I've ever owned. Put just over 14k on it in 3 years, sold it on when I lost a good friend in an accident and haven't had the urge to ride again since.
But if I did ever buy another bike it would be another ZZR1400. Fantastic machine.

Smiffy,You sure you rode that, sooooooo clean, very nice mate!!!!!!

Was my pride and joy mate. All of my bikes were immaculate. Realised I had lost the "passion" when I stopped cleaning the ZZR. A clean bike not only sounded better, it went better too... :D :D :D

I was following my brother Richard up through France on the way back to Calais when he ploughed into the back of a car that just pulled out in front of him. How he wasn't killed I don't know. Ended up in hospital in Boulogne.
Then lost a very good friend (Kate) a few months later. Riding to work when the car in front of her stopped suddenly. She panicked, hit the brakes and slid off, straight into an oncoming car. Killed instantly. She was a policewoman from Ashford and was riding sensibly at the time. Attended her funeral and on the way back home made up my mind I wasn't going to ride again.

Heres me at work before a world cup match in 2006. I got rid of it a couple of years ago cos it was getting too dangerous with all the inconsiderate drivers out there.

jammydodger, Had a cbr600 before my blade, really good bike, you tend to realise how vunerable you are on a bike, when car drivers dont give a hoot about anybody else but themselves, they are so wrapped up in there own little world, then say"oops sorry mate didnt see you",could deck em!!
