Anthony Kim

I think sometimes people on here too readily criticise this Pro and that Pro, without really knowing the person.

We should remember that sometimes the Pro Golfer we see on TV may not always be the person we think they are. TW a good example.

As for Kim, he appears to be confident in his own ability...

Golfmmad.

Couldn't disagree more.

A major part of my job is dealing with the public. Some days I get out of bed all happy and jolly and gay. On other days I'm hungover and knackered and miserable.

My basic personality is someone who is boring, antisocial, and really doesn't like the general public.

But if I go out with that attitude I will piss off everyone I come into contact with, and noone would want anything to do with me.

So I try to pretend to be jolly and happy all day, every day.

God it's depressing trying to be nice.

But the bottom line is, it's my job to be nice to people I don't know, to try to get them to like me,so they like my company etc etc.

These guys will all earn more money if they are as popular as possible with their public.

That doesn't always mean being nice, it means having an acceptable public persona.

I'm interested in the way that poker has surged in popularity over the last 7 or 8 years. Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth have used the game to earn millions through tv and sponsorship. The Kid is jovial, and popular. The Brat is disrespectful and has a marmite personality.

But they are both good to watch at the game.

Golfers sometimes think that just being able to hit a ball is enough.

It's our job to criticise them, to ensure they keep up their public persona. If everyone loved Tiger, noone would write about him, and he'd disappear off the face of the earth apart from when he's playing golf.

There's only one thing worse than being talked about.

And that's not being talked about.

:p

I didn't realise our very own Prime Minister was in fact Craphacker.

Explains a lot... :D

I quite like him. Why? He's good and he's confident, he likes a drink, and isnt forever going on about how much like hard work it all is, he seems pretty happy most of the time too.

Usually you'd all agree that these were quite good things in a sport which is 'missing personalities' (like most sports now). We, being british, dont like the fact he's confident. But as mentioned, these new young kids are brought up being told how good they are and all that. Its not really his fault is it, with age and experience that will dwindle.

Much more likely to win a major this year, or next, than Ricky. Ricky appears quite good though too.
