He's had a great start to this season and is now leading the Quail Hollow...

I think he has as good a chance as any of winning a major this year. His golf is maturing now to match his undoubted ability... I know we'd all mostly like to see Westwood win a major, but i really think that Kim has the game to do it this year.

Kids with the talent he has are brought up to believe in themselves and their abilities through their colleges, this sometimes gives them an air of arrogance. The cockiness they bring onto tour takes a few years of maturity to start to disappear, and I think this is what has happened, I think he will turn out O.K in the end.

Maybe it's the belt buckle?

No its not that,he is just seriously dislikeable.

I agree. I am warming to him a little though.....in the way a frozen turkey warms up to Christmas dinner when the gas man's cut off the supply.

Like him or not, he's becoming a terrific player.

He gets a bad press. I have heard Denis Pugh slag him off on Sky, but I think he is visibly maturing, like Padraig he frequently looks like he's enjoying playing, and he ventures to play abroad unlike many US pros -I like him.

I never used to like Casey for similar reasons but warmed to him now, young guys with all the talent are usually arrogant. Villegas is an exception to the rule though, who I think will win a major.

He made his own bad press at the last ryder cup when he moaned like a little girl for his opponent getting a free drop.

Proper *** ****

I am not a big fan, he does seem to be playing well at the minute but I think i dont like him much because he wants to be too american, maybe he is looking for acceptance from american society because of his eastern heritage, similar to christina kim in the ladies game?
Saying that, he does play with a smile and usually looks happy on the course, like he is just grateful to be there. Maybe with time he might be ok, maybe......

I think sometimes people on here too readily criticise this Pro and that Pro, without really knowing the person.
I used to think that David Duval, (when he was no.2 in the rankings) was a miserable so and so, until I saw him being interviewed at the Masters, thought how amusing and down to earth he was.

We should remember that sometimes the Pro Golfer we see on TV may not always be the person we think they are. TW a good example.

As for Kim, he appears to be confident in his own ability and plays with a smile on his face. Can he win a Major this year? He certainly has the game for it!

Golfmmad.

Fair comment. A.K. is a streaky player capable of sudden rushes of brilliance a la Woods/Mickelson. I think it's only a matter of time. Probably not the Open, but the rest soon enough.

Think all can agree the kid has game to spare. Seems to have the self-belief to match, which is the key to winning majors.

As for his attitude, he seems very aware of his own reputation for being cocky, even has a sense of humor about it... Belt buckle and all. Strikes me as at least being genuine, even if you think he's a genuine ass.

u`d look happy too -i believe he`s known for liking a drink- word has it he wasn`t gettin in till early hours during president`s cup ...

I would go out and get smashed if I was playing Robert Allenby the next day!! There is always a fair chance he will bore you to death out there.

Good point, we have to remember that on the course they are effectively at work and like all of us at work they are there to make money so they are not going to be all smiles and laughs. When they are being interviewed they also have to be guarded in what they say as it is so easy to offend nowadays. Do we ever get to see the real person?

I read the article in Ricky Barnes in the mag last night... anyone like to say who they think has a better chance at a major between him and Kim?

I liked Barnes attitude towards the game - all seems like a bit of fun to him and he seems very natural with the game.

Still think Kim has that edge of attitude towards it (and himself) though that will see him win a major.
