Annual subscription 2026

Yep the Seme barracks were massive , no pubs in the town because it was a garrison town

Had to go to Pompey or Guilford as the nearest pub was always rammed with Army

A lot of the old raf quarters are still there in Bordon

Proper hole apart from a decent kebab van and pizza shop

Blackmoor is a brilliant course @richart is a member there
To be fair I wouldn’t call the REME Army they’re better know by another term 🤣

Quarters are still there for a couple of pals that live there. Mrs M company also sponsor the annual soap box race there, you’re description of it as a proper hole is bang on!

I’ll definitely have to get myself over there an play, fingers crossed it’ll be this year.

What is the difference between the levels? Is it age brackets?

I would assume it’s not age brackets but membership bandings based of numbers of rounds purchased under a points scheme.

Green get X amount of rounds plus a discounted rate in future rounds etc , then as they go up in banding the allocation and discounts improve right up until Premier membership. I’d then assume Premier is unlimited golf like a normal full membership.

After paying £200 for 6 months over 'winter' (Oct-Mar), now being quoted £1,200 for full membership but prices have been held, and get a £200 discount. Is a 27-hole course but unsure, quite like being a nomad and seeing new places!

You can still see new places by playing opens at good prices.

We always said REME stood for Rough Engineering Made Easy. But that was because we weren't particularly pompous and didn't take ourselves too seriously.

Well as of an hour ago I’m officially a member of a club again. Bargain of a deal they only charged me £129 for the next 3 months to take me to the end of their membership year. Just waiting to hear what the next years subs will be at the start of July but looks like it’ll be around £900 which will do nicely.

Feel good to be part of something again, now just need it to stop raining 🤣

Where you gone for mate?

Just because it’s shut ?
It does seem to happen more frequently than years gone by, while other courses less affected during the winter. Value for money has to be considered.
But I can't really answer your question. We would have to ask each individual who does go to another course this year and compile their answers.

I'm not too bothered about winter closures though. As a retired person, I get to play a lot for 6-8 months of the year and I'm happy.

Ours will be going up about £50 to just under £1300 for full 7 day membership. Annoyingly, some of the committee were pushing for more of a raise because other local courses charge more and we are better than those courses. Not the best reason for a big hike, especially when other areas of the club (range and clubhouse) are well in profit.
