I had an N/R today and it doesnt feel good as i hit the first 8 greens in regulation and hit the ball amazing . Obviously it was my fault but a part of me feels like i should blame my playing partners. They seen me hit my drive and i lost sight of the ball but they assured me it was fine. When i started to look for it they carried on towards their balls(nearer the green) and left me to find it, which i didnt . Should i be annoyed or just deal with it?

Annoyed with yourself. Play a provisional if you aren't sure, even if your playing partners think you're OK. A bit off of them not to help look though.

Couldn't you have gone back to the tee?

Well i hit my first drive just out of bounds  then i followed up with that lost ball. I couldve went back but there was a group on the tee and a group putting out on the 13th so i thought it was best to keep moving forward. Oh well always next week ;)

I had a rant about a similar subject a few weeks ago, was fed up of certain people I play with not watching drives. If they hit a wayward one they look to me and ask if I got a line on it and normally I have and am a pretty decent ball finder. If I ask then they are often marking a card or chatting but the response tends to be 'sorry never saw it' resulting in me hitting a provisional and blindly trying to find my original one for 5 minutes (the people in question are not great at ball hunting either). Happened again today to produce a card wrecking score on the 10th. Rest of the round was great and was hoping for a decent score having broken 80 for the first time in a 'friendly' round yesterday but that one hole wrecked the card (lost the first ball and was so annoyed that nobody had watched it that I took a wild slash at the provisional that went into the really heavy stuff via a tree)

This sort of stuff really makes my blood boil . It more to do with manners than anything to watch your partners shots as i watch their shots, no matter how good or bad they are ;)

At the end of the day it's your responsibility. If in doubt keep hitting provisionals and call the group through. It's my understanding that etiquette wise if the course is busy you shouldn't look for each others ball anyway. If you really want some help, ask them to keep a line on it before you swing and at least there is half a chance they'll look. ALternatively if they don't help you why help them

It is maybe a chance to learn too, as from now on you will play a provisional if your unsure. I would be a bit annoyed that they didnt help u look though, are they your mates or just playing partners for the day?
