An unexpected bonus - Proper golfer at last!!!!

So I played in the September Monthly Medal at Gifford yesterday and (almost) had the round of my life. Even the 9 I scored on the 8th after hitting a ball deep into the cabbage, I knew would be rounded down to a nett double bogey 7, so I kept my head and just played on. A 7 on the last was disappointing, but there you go.

CSS is normally 69, but the wind must have played havoc with the majority yesterday, as the CSS ended up at 72 and the 0.6 cut I thought I was in for ended up being a 1.5 cut, so down from 18.2 to 16.7!!!

Also, I was lowest gross in Division 2 for first position, so a few quid to collect the next time I'm down too!!

Just had an e-mail from the club to advise that not only did I top Division 2 with my score, but I've actually won the September Medal, overall, on countback from the top placed competitor in Division 1. I've now been invited to play in the Champion of Champions Comp on Saturday 13th October.

Brilliant mate and about bloody time too,i'm not going to steal your thunder but i had a nett 68 in a bit of a breeze with CSS 73 that gave me a 1.1 cut so 2 full shots in 2 rounds ,not bad for someone who was on the verge of giving up 4 weeks ago.

And like you i'm in a playoff for The Walker Cross with my mate who had a nett 68 ,but as he's also in a play of for the Gold Medal if he wins that i get the Walker Cross,happy days.
