Following on from another post here today.
I found a Dunlop 65 the other day and was planning on using it in our roll up tomorrow. However went up to play the 9 hole course at the club today and thought I would run a little experiment and compare it to a number of modern premium balls.
Which were;
Prov1 and Prov 1X
TM penta tp5
Srixon Z star
Wilson FG tour
Callaway hex black
Bridgestone rxs
Unfortunately, I shanked the Dunlop 65 off the first tee and lost it in a gorse bush!!!!
Carried on with the test with the others though, as I always us a Pro V as my ball of choice and occasionally dabble with the others, but never use a Callaway or TM penta. I usually just give them away to mates when ever I find any which is a lot.
I was amazed to find the callaway performed the best, went 5- 10 yards further and stopped dead despite the greens on the Cameron course being rather firm.
The Callaway did cut up the most and after only 6 wedge shots it was cut to pieces.
Very interesting, shame about the Dunlop though!!!!
