Sounds like a knock off club. Fake manufacturers make the shaft from plastic which can snap. A genuine graphite shaft is more likely to splinter.

Maybe years ago but not now.
It broke right on the adapter hosel.

It wasn’t a knock off from our pro shop!

Tashy's recent post reminded me that, a few years ago, we were following a really slow fourball of visitors. We waited every shot on 1, 2 & 3. As we were waiting to play our second shots at the 3rd we observed them leaving the green & walking to the 17th tee. We played our second shots while they were teeing off & had a pleasant, leisurely round. They got 23 holes for the price of 18, so everybody was happy.
