American golfers at the the Open

Been really impressed with Fowler especially as he's not had the best of the weather. If I remember right Thursday afternoon was worse than the morning, and he played in that rain today for 13 or 14 holes? Can't remember Fridays weather. Anyone?

He's not just played his own game very well, he's adapted to the conditions and played a range of shots very creatively, and well.

Friday was the best of the weather, warm, sunny and little or no wind early on, though becoming windier as the day went on. There were no big scores even under those conditions.

+1. Very impressed with how he controlled the ball in awful conditions yesterday. Might even be a bit of a "coming of age" for him. Any golfer has to respect 68 round RSG in those conditions wearing rain gear. I will even forgive him those silly hats and his orange suits. BUT Please let it be Darren or Jiminez kissing the Claret Jug on the 18th at about 6.30 today.

He certainly thought his way around the course better than Rory yesterday.
My heart his with Europe but my head says there will be an American winner today :(

Fingers crossed for Darren Clarke but credit to Ricky Fowler for being right up there. He seemed almost oblivious to the bad weather yesterday. I think a lot of us assume that if it's rough out there then the Brits will do well as we should be more used to playing in it. Clearly not the case. Also, considering the hype surrounding Rory's US Open success it will be interesting to see what happens if Ricky Rowler manages to win.
