After reading a lot of anti AG posts I thought I would add my recent experiences to the mix.
Wandered into the Cardiff store last week, slightly interested in a new driver.
The store manager spent a fair bit of time with me in the nets (ooh err) using the monitor. The figures showed my current driver was launching too high with massive backspin. 17 degree plus launch and nearly 6000 rpm of backspin.
Demoed Pings, Callaways, Srixon, TM and not a Nicklaus club in sight. Eventually we found that the TM tour Burner 10.5 regular gave me closest to the best launch conditions. £129 later I was a happy punter.
Now for the on course proof.
I am well chuffed. The ball flight is far more penetrating and definetly longer. My old drives would reach 220 - 225 (including roll) maximum and often quite a bit shorter, even down wind due to the high + weak ball flight. I have been measuring using GPS and now average 240-245 including roll. Even hit one 280 yesterday - admittedly down hill and down wind, but we won't dwell on that - will we??
The club is no more difficult to swing, accuracy appears the same - 70%+ of fairways hit and I am very grateful to AG for their service.
Moral, if any is, AG can provide a great service - you just need to get the right staff member fitting you.
Happy days.
John.
