Am I the only one still waiting to be able to play my 1st round of 2013? Whether it be due to Course condition, Injury, Money, Currently club-less. I wasn't a member of a course last year and will be joining my local course in the very near future so i've yet to play my 1st round of the year, It's actually been a good 3 months or so now since I even got a round in. (Weather here has not co-operated)

Also, in regards to joining a new club... When should I sign myself up? Wait for better weather?

I've not played 18 yet as our back nine has been closed, played the front nine a fe times though. The course opened on Monday so all being well I'll get my first full 18 in on Saturday

Have a look around and see when the clubs in question year starts most of them around here start in April, and as said they are offering 15 months for the price of twelve. However you may not want to join until after this so your subs will be pro-rata after April. Make sure you choose the club that suits your needs not just because they have an offer on.

Haven't played on a course yet either, forecast for next 3 weeks is snow and -14 Celsius so can't see that changing until end Feb.

Your not alone. I'm yet to play a round in 2013, with my membership ceasing on the 23/1/2013 and the weather changing it could be a while before I get to play, as if it does snow theres no way i'd be able to get to my new course i'm joining to pay my subs and complete my application

In the same boat. Not played since the beginning of December and looking to join a club in the next month or so. Going for my 1st round on Saturday though and cant wait to get back into it.

Our course was closed for the first time in ages last weekend, so I went and played somewhere else. Hit 8 GIRs on the front 9, 1 over gross.

If you know where you want to join you should start the process now , some places have to have committe meetings regarding new members , these meetings could be once a month , if you apply just after the last meting you could be waiting 3 weeks to be accepted , then you have to get your handicap cards in so it could get drawn out on you ..

No full rounds for us just 13 hole winter league .. good time to practice ..

At least it seems there's a few in the same situation as myself for now. Once I get a day off I'll give them a ring and ask a few questions. Apparently after the weekend coming we're due about 3 weeks of snow here so I guess it'll no doubt be at least another month or so before I have a chance of a game.

I'm also yet to play this year. Was due to play on Saturday just gone then hurt my wrist playing 5 a side footy. Hoping to be healed enough to play this weekend. Not good enough to swing a club yet, but improving day by day.

We have not been closed as far as I know, no temporary greens, and just one temporary tee (It is the original tee before the hole was extended) The Club did spend a lot of money on drainage about ten years ago, and we are getting the benefit.

Playing my first round of 2013 tomorrow

Ever since i confirmed my 3 ball earlier this afternoon, ive been like a kid on xmas eve,

It'll all change after my 1st drive, il wanna be back at home watching The Volvo Ch'ship on tele!!!

Presume you've not seen the forecast first thing Saturday then. I am still waiting for my first holes of 2013 and if the rain, sleet or snow comes as predicted I could be waiting a tad longer

Aye i've heard that before right enough but it's the only course close enough that I could get a regular round in.
