alignment sticks

What a pile of crap this 'invention' is....as Robobum says if you are that desperate to look like a wannabee Pro save yaself some cash and paint some Bamboo sticks, they'll do the same job which from what I have seen from the knobs that carry them about is serve as a great head cover holder.

That said I would love to have been the man who thought up the concept,he must be sitting pishing himself laughing at the money he has made from the posers/knobs.

They take a few shot off your game each time you play as well you know!!!! ;)

Here speaketh a knob who uses them for resting his head covers on.... ;)

Thats not true i also used them for demonstrating to someone on the course just how far that Pakistani cricketers foot was over the line :p

Thanks for the helpful answers, and the not so helpful ones lol!!

I want them as I have been struggling with alignment, I had a lesson on alignment last week, and was shocked at just how far off line I was. The pro recommended getting some of these to use for practice, or 2 old shafts, as i dont have to old shafts, I figured these would be cheaper! :)

I would prob leave them in the boot to be honest and just take them out at the range, I dont think I would have a need for them on course, surely it would infringe on the rules (would prob help my game though) lol

For the sake of £10 I can't see the problem with them. I find them a pretty useful tool and ideal for sorting my adress out. I have a habit of aiming well right even though I'm certain it's straight until I put an alignment stick down. Even worse if someone puts one across the shoulder line!

I normally hear people saying 'you don't need them, get some garden canes instead' and then seeing they have some in their bag a couple weeks later. A lot of players use them and i cannot imagine they all want to look like a tour player.
I guess it's down to what you want, they are ideal for a lightweight and practical practice aid that can be kept in the golf bag.

One extra use could be as an overspeed practice aid for anyone wanting to increase their swingspeed.

I think I will get some ordered, I have noticed the difference it makes just lining myself up with a couple of clubs, so for a tenna I think they are worth it!

Garden centre, bamboo cane for about £3.

Do you want them for alignment or to pose about in your bag?? ;)

Well said that man.

I officiated (is that the word? or referreed?) a match t'other day. Both the lads had alignment sticks in their bags.

What I wanted to say was "let's have a good match gents, anyone leaving the sticks in the bag gets an instant penalty...loss of hole in matchplay for being a tw@."

Trouble is, they'd have been all square after 18 without even playing a shot. or is that 18 down after 18 without hitting a ball.
