Can't say, in all honesty, that I've conciously tried to change anything for years apart from fighting a tendancy to sway right on the backswing.
I've fiddled a little with grip and ball position but not actaully made "changes".

Does this make me wierd...?:mmm:

It makes you lucky!

Aw thanks Craw...

One of the nicest things anyone's said to me!

Had a lesson yesterday and as a result, I've agreed to a grip change and weaken the left hand. Boy o boy o boy! How alien does it feel coming out of your comfort zone and changing something which has been "natural" too me for about 20 years!!!

Yeh weakening the left hand makes the club feel waaaaay open, even more so if you had a habit of rolling it open on the takeaway. How strong WAS your grip and what was the 'reason' for you changing it, eg what will you get from it?

Gone to a one plane swing but need to get the clubhead to come in much steeper. Way too shallow and getting trapped inside. Finding it all harder to bed in than I hoped. The good ones are now much better but finding it hard to take the good work from the range to the course. Need to eradicate a killer hip slide and turn them more (imagine a baseball player hitting a shot and the way they clear their hips) which I'm told will give me the room to compress the ball more

Try keeping the weight on the left a bit more on the backswing. Right knees should feel quite straight without being locked - left knee might bend/fold in quite a bit, but that's fine. Don't overswing, in fact a 'slightly shorter than full' feeling helps. Then, on the downswing, let the hips slide a bit forward, though mainly opening up. Keep the head/torso slightly behind hips (but over centre of gravity, so feeling is that hips are driving/being driven by right leg as heel should com off ground). Should compress the ball better. And ball flight might become a slight draw. :)

My left hand is so strong that I actually hood the clubface at address. Neutralise the clubface which should also help to eliminate the destructive snap hook when my timing is off! Also hope to gain a bit more consistancy.

In theory!

If you weaken your grip you're going to need to change your swingpath slightly, it might happen naturally or you might just shank your way round the course. You need to swing a little less inside-out and more of an in-to-in swingpath where your hands exit more LEFT towards your left pocket rather than down the line.

about 9 months ago had a complete rebuild of everything,Grip, stance, grip, alignment, posture, Grip, ball position. Did I mention Grip/

Everything went to ratpoo for 4 months, now im coming out the other side and improving

Roll on this season

I watched "life of Brian" last night, and to paraphrase: You, lucky, lucky barsteward.

I was going for a fitting 3 weeks ago, and the pro said that i would be better having a lesson first, had one and signed up for 5 more. I was self taught, over 20 years like youreslf, which got me down to 9, but having stalled over the last 2 years thought I would try club fittings, lessons and maybe more practice, not just playing.

Anywhose, after having 2 lessons, I have had 2 games and i have to think of the following list:-

Stand closer
Stand more upright and slightly bend legs
Grip properly (I used to have a very dodgy grip)
Relax the shoulders
Take away with the swing (not the arms)
Keep the right arm tucked in
Keep the swing path more in to out
Dont overswing
Roll the wrists

So much initial info, but you know what I am sticking with it, because I am generally hitting it straighter, even though I seem to have lost 15-20 yards on all clubs.

One grip change, you lucky, lucky...........

Another pro guaranteeing he's got work for the future
