Choke

I did it again in the medal comp on Saturday morning.

Steady front 9 which ended with me holing my 125 yard pitch for an eagle 2.

A very solid par on the par 5 10th saw me standing on the 11th tee 3 over gross (h'cap of 12) for the second time in 5 weeks.

A duffed 3rd pitch into the greenside bunker on 11 saw me walk off with a DB then feeling flustered at making such a stupid mistake I slashed my tee shot on 12 into the trees and walked of 12 with a DB.

The remaining 6 holes saw 1 par, 2 bogeys, 2 double bogeys and a treble bogey (f%&king par 3 15th - I hate you ).

Not sure what it is but I just can't seem to string 18 decent holes together.

My only consolation is that one day it has to all come together and I can claim my first club competition since 1997 and achieve my goal of getting down to single figures.

Oh and I went for a practice yesterday and put my tee shot on 15 to within 3 feet and made the putt for birdie!!! Typical! :swing:

Do you consciously count your score as you go round? That maybe the problem if you do, putting pressure on yourself often ends up in poor results. Try not worrying about your outward score and just concentrate on playing rather than what score you scored on the way out and that might let you concentrate more on just playing.

I got to the 14th yesterday, standing at 1 under par gross .... Bogey, Double, Bogey, Bogey finish !!!

Had gone thru the first 11 holes with just 11 putts as well !

I dont feel as bad now!

I dont conscioulsy count my scores but we always tally up after the front 9. I obviously knew my score had been given a big boost by my eagle on 9.

I find the mental aspects of golf far harder than the physcal sometimes.

glad to have helped :)

I've been paying the last 4 holes quite well lately. 15 and 16 are birdie opportunities for me, and then it's hold on for a hopeful par par finish. Shame but it wasn't a qualifier just a roll up .... And I took the money so not all bad ;)
