Adidas to sell of TaylorMade, Adams, and Ashworth

Be nice to see the compan go down the mizzy - titleist - ping route and reduce the product cycle. I think this would breed a more loyal customer base

Totally agree. With new owners would they really want all the R&D costs and advertising spend on a new product every few months. Select a core range like most others do and use that. seems to work for most other brands

Going very OT, but my V500 was my pride & joy as a youngster, I scored some cracking runs with it!

They were cracking bats. Have you picked up a cricket bat recently? Years ago you had to really hit the middle for the ball to fly off. Thick bats with more meat were heavy. Now, they are lighter, thicker and like golf clubs you can hit the ball in a range of places and it still flies off. I could have been like Bradman with one of these new weapons :rofl:No wonder 20-20 goes at such a rate.

Apparently the sale includes a condition that means the brand can't be renamed, so will remain TaylorMade. Apparently this could be off-putting to UA who were tempted to purchase and transform them into UA Golf.

I switch to Bridgestone balls and they pull out the U.K.. I switch to Taylormade driver and their sold off lol

and my uncle runs an ashworth factory.. I might be a bit of a bad omen aha

I was in the states earlier this week and when this was announced on the Golf Channel this was put out with the announcement as a definite condition of the sale
