I am looking to freshen up my Hybrids. I currently have a couple of 2012 Cobra Bafflers. I have seen that Clubhouse Golf are selling Adams Tight Lies 2 Hybrids for £60. Does anybody have any experience with these hybrids and what did they think? I noticed at the British Masters at Woburn that a lot of non Adams sponsered pro's had Adams Hybrids in their bags.

Adams as a brand are renowned as the best manufacturer of Hybrids, So much so, thats why taylorMade bought them and retained the brand name. No experience with the model you mention, but as a brand they are among (if not) the best hybrids you can buy!

Same adage with any golf club, try before you buy if you can! One mans medicine is an others poison!

I have the Tight Lies 22 (4 Iron replacement for me) Hybrid and it's a beast, absolutely go to club, fairway, tee or rough and for £60.00, bargain

Can't speak for the tight lies, but have an old A7 and a less old Idea and they are fantastic clubs, love them both. The top end of my bag is probably missing a fairway wood but I can't part with either as they give me different trajectories to 200ish (and beyond, in the right circumstances!).

If you've fallen out of love with the bafflers I can't imagine you'll be disappointed for 60 notes

I own 3 Adams Hybrids and each are the best Hybrids i have owned (including the bafflers a good few years back)

Before you take the plunge on the tight lies though, checkout the XTD Ti hybrids. They are Adams flagship hybrid and are currently going for around 60 quid on ebay.

Absolute bargain, especially when you consider Online golf are selling them for nearly 200 sheets

I am in no way affiliated with the above eBay seller BTW

These are great value, and I could be wrong but I think the XTD Ti hybrids were aimed at the "better player" market? As in they are less forgiving. Adams has a history of brinigng out two models at the same time (used to call the "better" ones "pro"), with one for the player who needs to launch the ball or have more forgiveness in the club. The majority of the stock this ebay shop has are stiff or x-stiff, which might be rigid in the hands of someone with a slower swing speed (for all I know the OP is Adam Scott, but I'm just raising it in case he isn't!).

Your are probably correct mate and i never realized that REG shafts were not available. I currently own a Adams pro and do OK with it of 18. Your points are valid though

No worries chap, no info about OP in his sig so we don't know what range he should be looking at.

Looked it up and yeah the XTD are in the less-forgiving bracket. That's not to say someone off 18 or any number couldn't stripe one with it. I have buddies who are literaly giants playing off mid handicaps and they all need stiff shafts cos they are monsters with tree trunks for arms.

Personally I'll go for regular shaft and a forgiving model cos I weight about the same as my bag and trolley combined. Literally can't play in the wind and it has nothing to do with ball flight ;)

I have been looking at these myself to replace a Cleveland Halo, my dilemma is the Halo is a replacement 3 iron and is 21 degrees. I don't know weather to match the loft or iron, thinking the loft due to the way most golf manufacturers are marketing their wares.

I have the original adams tight lies, 3 wood, 5 wood, 7 wood and 9 wood and they are brilliant, nice high flight from any lie, very easy to hit and get the feeling of getting 'under' the ball, so much easier than hitting long irons. And for me very forgiving clubs and can also easily be hit off the tee on a small orange tee.

I searched for about 9 months to find the 9 wood (bought about a year ago) and the distance is similar to a 5/6 iron about 165 carry( I love the higher flight/easy hit of the wood). 7 Wood is about 180 carry. And 5 wood is about 200 carry. On normal days with normal temps. Just for comparison I hit a 7 iron about 150 yards carry and play off about 9.

The lofts of the woods are giving on the clubs, if anyone needs to know them.

Owned the 3 and 5 wood about 8-10 years at a guess, the 7 wood about 7 years and the 9 wood about 1 year.

Cheap as a Chinese takeaway for the family to purchase now!!, especially on somewhere like ebay.

Hope it works out for you.

Nice post Darren, welcome to the forum

I've got the XTD Ti 20 degree in Reg flex - it's an absolute beauty! It's my 200 yard club. The adjudstability is great and the components are great quality.
I've owned quite a few Adams hybrids, from the A2's to the "boxer" versions, to the pro versions - I don't think they make a bad one!
£60 for a Tight Lies 2 seems great value (if it's anything like my Tight Lies fairway wood, it'll be brilliant)

I was impressed with this club i hit it a few times at AG while trying the G30

loved both, but thought i would wait for the G30

but after seeing this thread, A 4hybrid Reg shaft is in the post

I play the Adams A12 OS irons and the hybrids within set are amazing! Am looking to add the Tight lies fairway to the set as well, just very well made clubs, great prices too!

Here's my recent review of the Tight Lies 2 fairway and hybrid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4euG3gtLTks

I've had them in the bag all season and love the hybrid. It's nice and compact so doesn't feel cumbersome off the deck, and looks great behind the ball thanks to its simple matte black crown. Can't go wrong for £60!

You know I never considered an Adams fairway before - might give one a look! Love the hybrids, the slot in the crown doesn't bother me at all!

Mine came this morning

great looking club nice and compact

to feel of the club is very different to what im used to but i can't argue with the performance
nips the ball of the deck perfectly

Having more success with this club
