Hello all,

I am going to Aberdeen on business next week (22-26th Aug) travelling up on the Monday, staying near Banchory but visiting customers Tuesday to Thursday, driving back on the Friday. I am travelling from Liverpool so can possibly fit games in on the way or way back on Monday/Friday and possibly also whilst up in Aberdeen if a free afternoon in between appointments, or of an evening.

I am looking to pal up, or even if people can give me pointers on where to play in the Aberdeen area. I have previously played Lundin links, Banchory and Stonehaven. Considering Cruden bay and possibly Royal Aberdeen, or any others that can be recommended.

Parkland or Links, I play of 10 BTW.

Thanks,

Thanks for the offer Patricks, but probably too far up.

If I had a full day without appointments, might of had a chance, but at the moment m ay only get one free afternoon at present. If ever in the Liverpool area look me up, and ill return the kind offer.

Also too long a drive on the Monday or Friday on top of a 6-7 hour drive.

Thanks anyway.

Hi there,

If you are passing the Dundee area, I would highly recommend Monifieth Links. There are 2 courses and the 'Medal'is a Par 71 and an Open Qualifying Course. I played there a few weeks ago and the greens were superb.Costs £55 per round.

There are 4 (I think) different clubhouses and visitors are told which one is the 'host' and this allows them the use of their facilities for changing and meals.

There is an online booking facility so you can choose what tee-time is available.

I am a member at Stonehaven up in Aberdeenshire and would be available on Thursday evening at about 6 o'clock. Its only a small course with a par of 66 but if the course is quiet you could be round in under 3 hours.

Hope this help a wee bit

Cheers

Hello Geejayboy,

Thanks for the offer, I played Stonehaven last year. Not many trees, but great holes over near the aquaduct and the views over the town and out to sea.

I think I played it in winter when there were a few temps on, but enjoyed it. At the mo, plan is for the Carrick on Monday night, Royal Aberdeen (on a nice day) but will probably be working all day Tuesday and Wednesday, but a possible. I will be online whilst away, but dont make plans based on me, as probably royal Aberdeen on the Thursday (daytime).

More than welcome to join me at royal Aberdeen or Cruden bay (only slightly cheaper). I,m only paying the full fee as I whils make £150+ on the mileage I'll be charging our company for the trip.

Hi Liverbirdie,

No problems, I played Cruden Bay many years ago and as a 'Links' fan I really enjoyed it.
Im sure your have a great time no matter what course you play.

Inchmarlo GC and Banchory GC are lovely courses.

Inchmarlo is a championship course I believe. I've played them both and indeed come from that area, if I wasn't living in Canada at present I'd give you game!

Also Aboyne and Afford Gc's are only up the road, then again So is ballator and braemar GCs.

Cheers
