Well, for the third time in 5 years a young Arsenal player has his leg broken. Not good. Don't remember this happening to many (any?) other teams.

Not helped by the press saying after every game that the way to stop Aresenal is to be 'physical', they don't like being kicked. Not suprised if it puts your career at risk.

To be fair (vaguely), the stoke player who did it was distraught. Small consolation though. We have still lost Ramsey for at least 9 months. May be forever.

I'd like to say get well soon, but it isn't going to happen.

Best wishes then.

Was listening on 5live and it sounded horrific - all the good luck in the world to Ramsey. Promising player.
The Stoke player did seem to be remorseful, suggesting that he went for the ball and mis-timed it - badly.

Its true - you don't hear of this sort of thing often from other teams. Do opponents "kick out" more at Arsenal? Are they more physical against them? I don't know but it is wierd.

I watched the game and what a bad tackle but i dont think it was malicious just miss timed. Must of been bad as they didnt even show any air time on it which they normally do on live tv. Hope he can come back as he was a good footballer and i wish him the best of luck for the future.

Not condoning over physical play but there are broken legs up and down the country in football at all levels every week, it's a physical game and bad injuries are not uncommon. Feel for the lad involved but it doesn't help with Wenger on his 'they're out to get us' crusade every time it happens to one of his players. I don't believe Arsenal are singled out as team to 'attack' physically. They haven't won anything in years so why would the winners like ManU/Chelsea not be attacked in the same way? Seen the pics and it looks like the ankle rather than tib/fib. Doesn't look as sickening as the Eduardo one, it really was a stomach turner.
Ramsey should be ok.

i saw the incident on youtube and thought it was very unlucky, the speed they were both running towards each other and the impact of the 50/50 something had to give, unfortunately it was ramseys leg but it could also have been shawcross,i was on the books of notts county as a youth player and this type of accident happens very rarely, the amount of big impact tackles etc that goes without injury far outnumber the breaks.look at the rugby players they run through brickwalls and yet you never hear of many injuries, half of the problem with leg breaks is when the boot/studs are still grounded and theres no give in the tackle.ramseys a promising young player and i hope he makes a successful comeback,i do feel for shawcross as i did the same as him about 5 yrs ago whilst playing local football, not as bad a break but a break all the same, only difference is,is that amateurs havent got enough insurance to pay mortgage etc,not to mention having time off work,i work for myself and it would finish me off if i were to suffer any kind of injury like his,i hurt my back, neck and broke 2 ribs in the same match about 4/5 yrs ago and ive never played since,i had a month of work unpaid.ramsay will still be picking up his thousands so he wont struggle financially but i do sincerely hope he gets fit again.

That looked totally awful for the lad. Dont think shawcross meant it intentionally but another arsenal youngster taken down.

Bitter sweet for shawcross after later getting named in the england squad.

I've heard/seen the word 'malicious' used to work out if a tackle is dangerous.

But I'm pretty darned sure the word the FA have changed it to is 'reckless'. It takes away the need for intent, and just decides on whether the guy should have known better.

Dunno if that changes anything, I can't see the lad getting more than the 3 match ban. As has already been mentioned, this wasn't as reckless as the Eduardo tackle, and that was brushed under the carpet, bigtime.

This is the premier league not some Sunday league game, this type of injury shouldn't be happening.

So three players with career threatening injuries in five years is just unlucky? I think not.

So that makes it OK then?

Weird that you don't remember Tony Adams, Martin Keown, Lee Dixon... biggest bunch of hackers that EVER played the game.

No one cares about Arsenal... (well we do like Fabregas a bit) :D

Oh yes I do, hackers no, good honest defenders yes. The only break inflicted by those guys was when Adams dropped Steve Morrow

Looks similar to the injury suffered by David Busst of Coventry City a few years ago which wrecked his career.
I remember vividly the pictures of that injury

have to say looked like 2 players going for a 50/50 with a very bad outcome, Feel sorry for ramsey , but also for the Stoke lad

According to Sky, it was Ramsey's fault, for being 'too quick'. Ha.

Any coincidence that all three Arsenal injuries have been caused by English cloggers, with no speed, no skill, no technique?

No wonder Wenger won't employ them.
