Hey Up,

Can't remember I this has been discussed before, I did a search and found nothing on it.

Anyhoo, looking though the interweb I came across this start up for a tee that can help reduce you slice or hook. I seem to recall the forum talked in jest about using tee with three prongs on the top and pointing the tee in the direction you wanted the ball to go. However the guy who is pushing the Trust tee has taken it a step further and according to the testimonials and the marketing bumph, he reckons he's cracked it.

What you reckon? Fact or fiction?

I would love to check your search engine you don't half find some rubbish:D

I've got a facebook account purely for entering golf competitions, that require you have a facebook account and this Trust Tee thing came up on the time line, so I did a little digging and found the vids and just wondered what others may make of it.

Well, if it worked it would be against the Rules, so wouldn't be allowed - and would be a waste of money!

If it didn't work it would simply be - a waste of money!

Seems to work by presenting more of the ball either on the inside (for slicers) or the outside (hook players) and in so doing helps encourage a change in club path into the ball. I had an out to in path, the pro doing my lessons started by putting the logo of the ball on the inside path at the base of the ball and asking me to hit the logo. No more out-in but now in-out. Same thing I think.

Will it work, without knowing why your doing what your doing probably not, and as was said above, no chance for your second shot!

:rofl::rofl:
Another rule classic - please, do tell, how would one prove it works exactly? Trackman and 'analytic swing path referee' on each tee box?

Ace.

Analysis could easily be done using 'Iron Byron', which is what they test balls with, set up for Slice or Draw swing path.

Here's the bit from The Rules that's appropriate to Tees (Appendix IV)...

1. Tees (Rule 11)
A tee is a device designed to raise the ball off the ground. A tee must not:

be longer than 4 inches (101.6 mm);
be designed or manufactured in such a way that it could indicate Line Of Play;
unduly influence the movement of the ball; or
otherwise assist the player in making a Stroke or in his play.

Doesn't really matter. It's design is specifically to unduly influence the movement of the ball so the tee is illegal. It's like a less extreme version of the classic anti-slice tee. There is enough reviews and testimonials to indicate that the tee does work.

Could be great for the casual player out with friends looking for a quick fix but for anyone with more than a passing interest in the game then they'd be asking for trouble.

Thanks, so it's not been done then...

Ok, has it been declared by the rule makers that it's illegal, because it works? I'm sure someone would have spotted that and mentioned it by now if so. Therefore, until that is the case, it ain't against 'the rules'. It's merely a claim?

If I were to rock up in a comp and use this tee and someone whinged that I'd used it, are you saying that, based on some youtube reviews, I'd get DQ'd?

I'm not gonna buy em, just fancy a bit of clarity.

Then contact R&A or USGA and/or the manufacturers!

I'm not sold on these as a good idea but what i was trying to get at with my earlier post (no. 8) is i think is does neither directly effect ball flight nor indicate the line of play but it does try to influence your club path which in turn gives the desired result so I think it is legal, just not a big deal.

Lol, No, no, no.

I actually couldn't care less. But as you posted stating it was illegal, was simply interested to know, how so?

Currently, they're legal, right?

Now, what's the pound versus the dollar at the mo...

They're illegal, Foxholer says so ;)

I thought Foxy merely pointed out the fact that it either worked, and would be illegal, or didn't - in which case it would be legal and pointless.....he didn't state which.

At last, someone who's rarely, if ever wrong, in the rules section :D

So, as it stands, if the OP ordered some and rocked up in his comp next week, has he/she broken a rule? That's all I was interested in!
