I apologise in advance as this is a bit of a gloat.....

Playing in the Stableford Comp today. Lovely day for it here, bit breezy but sun out so always a good start.

I then proceeded to play the best round I can remember!

Broke 80 by shooting 76 gross (par 72) and, quite incredibly, no 3 putts at all!

Birdied the first hole and, other than two 6's on the front played really consistently. Holed a few nice putts, drove the green on a par 4 for the first time at that hole aswell.

So, first time ever round my home course under 80 and no 3 putts which were 2 of my aims.

43 points and a comp win on a glorious day with a PB, can golfing life get any better!?

Chuffed isn't the word!! :)

Oh, and one of the pro's joined our 3 ball for the last 9 and we "halved" the back 9 :)

Well done pal, great round.
It's a great feeling when you achieve a first in the game. All is well with the world and golf is the greatest game ever invented.
Had one of those days last year and they're fantastic!

Enjoy the feeling and bask in the glory! ;)

Very good scoring, could that be single figures time? Now the weather is better we should get a game in although your scoring worries me so no cash!

One of the purposes of this forum is to share good news, and that's a great round of golf. Don't apologise for sharing it with us!

:)

Its good to have one of those days, I did three season goals in one day but I did it at a forum meet in east brighton...

Not the best time or place :D

Single figures indeed, down to 8.8!! Just found that out and topped off a nice day in the sun with the family.

Definitely sort a game out, don't worry that was certainly a freak occurence on Saturday, I'll be boring people for years with stories from it......

Oh, and thank you all for the kind congratulations. Still beaming today, especially with my handicap in single figures for the first time!
