So tonight i made a conscious decision to avoid the TV all night. It's not that I think I watch too much, more that on my nights off, i'm sick of sitting in silence watching some spurious American TV show whilst the Missus sits next to me. Then she offs to bed while I carry on watching Telly.

So, when she came in tonight, I already had the music streaming from the laptop, constantly switching from her taste to mine. It's amazing how much you talk when the TV isn't the main source of entertainment. I honestly think that I would prefer Music to the TV at the moment. Jules went to bed over an hour ago, and I'm still sat here listening to music whilst the dog is at my feet and the fire is roaring... Perfect....

Its amazing how much you can post when she thinks you're listening to what she says.... Cheeky sod, I've been posting while she's been doing other things, like washing up and ironing.....

I went to the Lake District on a whim some years ago with HID and we found a small remote caravan site by a farm and managed to get in for the long weekend.

Even though it was one of those big 6/8 berth Atlas jobbies for the 2 of us, it had no electric, just those gas lanterns and we had to fetch water in drums about 150 yards away. Toilet/Shower block and a farm shop 50 yards down the road to buy fresh produce.

That was the most relaxing weekend I had ever encountered. I bought a book and read it cover to cover and I'm no reader. I'd never slept so good and with all the fresh air from the days walking, we were asleep before 9pm!!

TV is the curse of all evil

Switched the TV off at 7.30 last night when I put the kids to bed. The wife was working and I just sat all night reading Victoria Pendleton's book on my phone. :)

I swear some people automatically have to turn the tv on as soon as they come in, whether there's anything they want to watch or not.

It's not very often I get control of the remote (everyone else has to be out!) but when I do it goes off.

I love Spongebob. The kids have stopped watching it now, but I still tune in when they've gone to school..:D.. The only thing that puts me off now is that everytime Patrick Starfish comes on screen, all I can think of is Jason Dufner...
