Well, golf-wise it was at least.

Sorry in advance for this being a 'blow my own trumpet' thread, but like others here, no-one in my house cares so this is the only place to share.

The results from a charity comp a couple of weeks ago were finally on the noticeboard, and our team of 4 won it.

2 scores to count on par 4's, 3 on par 5's, and all 4 on the par 3's.

Off to a good start.

Todays comp was 4BBB, but my regular partner had to work so I put my name down on its own and been drawn with an 18 h/c that I played in a ko comp earlier in the year.

Result was...

Sod's law that I start playing well with the qualifiers done with until next April, but it's better than playing poop all year

I still only hit 5 fairways, but was only twice blocked out from the green rather than the usual 5 or 6.

I picked up on one hole when I was in a greenside bunker in 3 and my partner already made the 4, but for the other 17 holes I played I was 1 under.

Just hope I can keep it up for 5 months until the qualifiers come back again.

No, really, I'm so pleased you are playing well. It isn't in any way related to me going up yet another point 1, oh no. That wouldn't worry me at all, even if I 3 stabbed the last to miss the buffer by one shot. No not at all.

Don't apologise. We love it when forum members play well and win things. We all know how frustrating the game is a lot of the time and so its great to share the joy when it all comes together. Hope the good form lasts

Well done chap, played Beedles alot this year it can be very tricky as it is quite a long course. Keep it up.

No sorry, the comp that was played a couple of weeks ago wasn't an official club comp so wasn't recorded by computer, and took longer than normal for them to publish the results.
I just found out today (just before the pairs comp) that we had won it.

I'm actually jealous that you had the opportunity to go up 0.1

Our qualifiers are over now until April, but I'd love for them to carry on all year round. I've no idea why they don't.

I only need Mexican if my good form miraculously coincided with the period when my handicap can't get cut.
