Just a quick merry xmas wish and a goodbye and thanks message

I have quit playing after a few months break, didn't miss it and most of gear now sold

Reached my goal but wasn't enjoying it beyond that and felt I needed to spend time on my carp fishing instead

Thanks to all on here who helped me with advice and wish you all well

Golf is a great game and maybe I will come back to it but enjoy my fishing far more than my golf and I am good at angling something I will never achieve as a golfer

Happy new year folks

Keep it on the fairway and tight lines !

I understand your sentiments Wolfman, I've felt the same this year with cycling but I've been around golf for too long to ever give it up. Enjoy your new hobby and maybe one day you'll want to come back

Surely no need to stop posting on here though? Plenty of general chat to keep you interested.

I did the opposite with fishing, no need to chat about fishing on fishing sites then as it holds no interest for me anymore, the last 12 hr stint in the freezing cold wind and rain with nothing to show for it except loneliness and a feeling of solitude put paid to that. Gave the fishing gear away to people that liked it and spent the next 2 years staying warm with friends in pubs :whoo:

It might come back to you wolfman, if it does you'll be welcomed back with open arms

Aye Gan canny.

Reminds me of the joke.

Two blokes out on the links golf, it blowing a gale, chucking it down, they're cold and wet, when they see two other blokes fishing, one of the golfers turns to the other and says "you seen those two idiots??"

Fishing in the winter or anytime , last time I did that was at highcliffe a few years back , all day for nothing , saw the fish but never even had a bite , cant see why the fish want to bite a bait with a hook in it when we put down enough ground bait down without hooks in them for them to feed ..............hmmmmm , not for me , a loner`s past time fishing but each to his own , if you enjoy it the you must follow your heart but I hope you get the golf bug back , all the best ...................EYF

Sorry to lose you, but you have to do what feels right.
We're on this planet for a good time, not a long time.
Keep popping in from time to time, you'll always be welcome.
Stay safe and I hope you find what you're looking for mate.
