Well, I just thought I would post here and thank everyone for their advice that they have given recently - I am now well into my lessons and can't believe how much difference they are making.

In January I thought I was playing ok for a beginner; my best round was 96 but I was really struggling to distance. I've now had 3 lessons and the change has been so noticeable!

Just looking at my stats, before the lessons I was struggling to hit my 4 iron 140 yards; now I'm comfortably hitting it 180 - the lessons have added 40 yards to my distance! All the way through I have seen distance and accuracy improve.

I've been amazed how much of a difference little changes make to the end result. My old approach was 'trial and error', tweaking things as I went, but £75 for three lessons is the best money I have ever spent on golf!

Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can get out there more!

That's great news, well done. I'm a big believer that in most cases lessons will get you more improvement for your bucks than the latest gear and you seem to be living proof. Hope it continues to go well.

Good grief man you live in Surrey, not the North Pole. Putt another jumper on and get out playing. :D

Oh and well done with the lessons. ;)

I agree totally with Mashie. Even though I couldn't score at all on Saturday the striking was everything I've worked on this winter and the short game and putting undid all the hard work. Finally feel as though I'm turning a corner even if the ball striking was rubbish yesterday but I scored better. A few more range sessions to convince myself that it works and a short game lesson and I'm done for the start of the season
