I'm not a happy golfer, both my Puma golf shoes have split in identical places on both shoes. The shoes are only 7 months old and have been looked after meticulously as they were the most comfortable shoe I've had. Dried, cleaned, polished and rested with a shoe tree inserted after each round.

Not sure if I've got any recourse on getting them replaced, anyone know where I stand?

HOw much have they been used? I do not think they will do anything but get in touch, what you got to loose. I do not think the shop you purchased them though will give you much time, but PUMA might.

I wouldn't be happy either. Not sure what rights you have but it's not unreasonable to expect a good pair of golf shoes to last longer than 7m IMO.
Good luck with it.

@MadAdey - They've been used approx. once per week, probably less as over November to beginning or March the weather wasn't brilliant so I didn't get out much if at all.

@Pin-Seeker - Just been looking online for consumer rights, if I've read them correct, then 6 months or less, the trader the item was purchased from could offer, a refund, repair or replacement, as long as the item was maintained in good order. Over 6 months then it's at the discretion of the trader whether they replace or repair and it's up t the purchaser to prove they item was kept in good order.

Looks like going back to the trader isn't an option, unless I read the consumer rights wrong, so maybe a tweet to Puma Golf might get things rolling.

I thought your consumer rights were with the retailer first, they then contact the manufacturer blah blah.
You buy a dodgy dishwasher from Currys, you don't contact Bosch you go storming back into the shop :D
I'd say you're well within your rights to insist on some replacements or equivalent should they not be in stock.
Quote the 1974 consumer act malarky, the shoes should be expected to last a good few years at least, specially if they were not cheap.

Just been on to the shop I purchased them from, and they've bring them in with proof of purchase, a bank statement will do and they'll send them off to Puma for assessment.

Fingers crossed Puma replace them.

My cells started leaking after 11 months, took them back as 2 ywar warranty, got a full credit no questions asked

It's a ploy, hey give you a 1 year waterproof warranty but the sole splits before they let in water :D

Give puma a shout, surely thats a fault they should sort it out for you
