Well that's it.......... I have made the decision to 'hang up my clubs' until next April.

As I have a lot of business commitments I dont manage to get many rounds of golf in a year (I think about fifteen this year and only 5 comps.) My handicap has hardly moved up or down, but I am as frustrated as hell with the complete meltdown of my putting.

I played in a comp today which was a stableford. I went out in 41 (H'cap 20.1), which gave me 19 points, then on the back nine I had 4 (yes four) missed putts from less than 2 feet and ran up only 11 points .

Putting has always been the weakest part of my game but every round I played I hoped it would improve, sadly it hasn't.

This was to be my last match of the summer anyway, but after putting so ineptly, along with my complete lack of focus, the decision was made for me.

Hopefully the break will help me refocus and get back to enjoying this great game.

I feel for you, but can I ask what practice you have done to improve your putting. It sounds like are struggling massively and I would highly recommend speaking to bobmac about getting yourself a V easy and doing some solid practice with that. I know you can improve, just don't wait to improve.

Says the man who finished birdie birdie to make the bubble.

Right Ive just bought a V-EASY and will spend the winter getting my putting back on track. I still feel that my enforced 6 month sabatical is justified and hopefully my focus will return by that time as well

Less than 20 quid, one of te best investments you can make. I've only had mine a few weeks and not really practiced with it as much as I planned but the improvements are already there to see.

Any commission on this bob? ;)

Hi Geejay
Thanks for ordering a V-Easy. I will send it first class tomorrow morning so it should be with you Tuesday/Wednesday at the latest.
Hope it helps
Bob

Get a belly putter, you might as well try it, works for so many and still looks ok over the broom jobbies!
