Me and 3 mates have figured a way to get to Vegas in May.. Currently looking for a pad to stay.. Hoping to find near the Strip. Any suggestions.
Unfortunately, none are golfers so golf not on the mind. Any other suggestions to do/see/eat/drink/drink/drink.. all welcome

If it's your first time, stay on the strip. Any money saved you'll spend on cabs, seriously stay on the strip. Loads of good deals available for hotels that are seriously top places to lay your head.

God tier
Bellagio
Cosmo
Venetian
Aria
Caesers
Wynn
Encore

Very Very good
Mirage
MGM
Mandalay Bay (although a bit too down the far end for me)

Decent
New York New York
Treasure Island

Not the best
Circus Circus
Stratosphere (due to location)

With regards to drinking, you can get "free" drinks if you're gambling. Just give the cocktail waitress a dollar or two tip.

Eating, that depends on the budget, can spend $ or $$$$$

Tnx.. just as we spoke, I think we found a deal for NY-NY.. £450 for 4 nights.. sounds reasonable.. as you say, we will save on the cabs. Now to sort other things out..

I've stayed there, more than happy with it. Decent table minimums and some good food options.

We stayed in the signature suits @ MGM Grand, cheap as chips, massive rooms, 5 mins max via the walkway to the Casino.

Agree...We stayed at The Cosmo, I think it has everything you need. Excellent casino, top restaurants and a great “day club”
Also recommend getting a limo from the airport, it’s not expensive (especially for 4 lads!) and it saves a lot of hassle.
Enjoy. I thought the place was great and am looking for another excuse to go again!

Like the idea... but got hit by a glitch.. while we were navel gazing on the idea, prices doubled on the flights.. So had to do the alternate .. Flying to LA and then doing a road trip.. Will be epic. All in Flight + Car + Hotel per head <1K.

Are you driving to Vegas? Should be fun! I rented a Harley trike when we was there, went on some great trips. Honestly there is so much to do.

Plan the time of day and day of the week you'll be driving to Vegas carefully - it's about a three hour drive normally but evenings and weekends can take up to seven due to traffic.

5 of us did Vegas, stayed at the Excalibur which was fine, cheap chearful with huge rooms and a casino floor which didnt have crazy high minimum bets late on at night.

Booze wise, if you are into clubs try Omia at Caesars which was awesome but be aware it's $20 for a vodka and mixer. As bars go, all hotels are full of them, Nine Fine Irishmen in NY NY is decent as is Whiskey Down in the MGM. Planet Holywood has a good bar with plenty on view worth looking at (.)(.) (shallow, I know)

You'll love Vegas, it costs what it costs so don't try it on the cheap or you'll end up disappointed. We spend £2k each in 4 nights
