As per usual I am behind the times, and this weekend saw a 3D film for the first time, Toy Story 2 with my son.

I couldn't beleive how good it was, this is a 10 year old film that has been adapted for 3D. There were a few bits where it felt flat but still very impressed.

There were a couple of trailers in 3D for new films and the depth in them (Alice in Wonderland & a kids Dragon film) looked fantastic.

If you haven't yet experienced a 3D film I would highly recommend it.

I was also surprised the 3D glasses were only £1 a pair and are re-usuable, the film was more expensive but worth the extra couple of quid.

We took our kids to see A Christmas Carol in 3D back in December and it was the first time any of us had seen anything in 3D.

I've got to admit it was top drawer quality, me & my wife were laughing like mad as my 6yo daughter sat in her seat trying to catch the snowflakes that were falling :D

I was dragged by the wife and OJ to see the 3G the one about the guinnea pigs and it was mustard. I remember going to see JAWS 3D and it was guff but the only down side was it cost £25 for to adults and a kid .... the prices are 3D also.

We Took the kids to see "Polar Express" 3D at the Imax at the science museum about 5 years ago, that was very good indeed.

We recently saw Avatar in 3D which was spectacular, you really felt that you were in the scenes.

I understand from a customer involved in Film Production, that there are loads of 3D films in the pipeline for the next couple of years. It is obviously the next big thing

The 3D trailer before Avatar was the Toy Story 3D mentioned in the OP, Hated it, things coming at you from all sides, made me feel car sick.

Maybe im just getting old

I heard that Avatar is excellent in 3D, might put it on the list as something exciting for the missus

Avatar 3D was very good I thought, definitely worth the extra couple of quid. Didn't hurt my eyes or give me a headache, which I gather a few people complained about, but then it wasn't too in-your-face...it didn't overdo the "things coming right at you" trick. In mainly just made me feel like I was a lot closer to the screen, rather than making me feel I was inside the action. No motion sickness or anything like that.

Would love to go and see it at an IMAX Cinema though.

As for older films remade into 3D, I gather there are rumours that George Lucas is going to re-do the Star Wars films. I think that'll be a mistake!

Recently saw Avatar in 3D and i can say it was the best film i've ever seen. time flew by as it's a long film and hopefully will see some new ones in the near future. unsure if i'd want to see old films made into 3D but for the latest films it's the way to go. :)
