30 Golf Milestones

Some of these are pretty stupid. Getting club fitted?

I’d like to add:
31. Getting iron covers
32. Finding a pro v1 in a bucket of range balls
33. Using your ball retriever on consecutive holes
34. Putting off the green
35. Saying “one” when your playing partner knocks the ball off the tee
36. Telling everyone what ball you are playing on the first tee

I've done 4 of them

"Get a custom fit" was the first one on the list for me.
My dad bought some hickory shafted clubs in a junk shop, unwound the leather grips, hacksawed them to my size and rewound the grips. ✔️✔️
Junior sized clubs were too big for me. Those came three years later - Dunlop Blue Flash.

Next in order was,
Join a club
No lost balls (couldn't hit it far enough to do so)
Get a handicap
Make a par (10th hole at Barnsley Municipal, short par-4)
Break 100 (May 1971)

I’ve ticked off 21 on the list. I realistically think I can manage a handful of those not yet achieved, but things like getting to scratch, winning our Club Championship and shooting under par are unlikely.

Yeah, I can certainly put the not-done ones in two categories:

Not Done But Possible In Theory
Hole in one
Albatross
No doubles
Attend a major
Hole bunker shot
300 yard drive... if I play a severely downhill rock hard course I guess 😂
Single figures... maybe with a bit of luck
Under par 9... I have done a level par front nine so not completely beyond the realms of possibility
Play in pro-am

Absolutely No Chance
Shoot under par
Win club champs (unless net prize counts!)
Break 70
Bogey-free round
18 greens in reg
Scratch handicap

15 out of 30.

Being honest with myself, I could probably tick off another 6 but there are still 9 I'd have no chance with.

Definitely 28
Fairly sure I have not hit 18 greens in reg. In the highly unlikely event that I did, it probably would not have registered.
Never had a custom fit.

I did once nearly have a 'perfect' round 16 pars and one bogey and one birdie.
18 pars is much more achievable than 18 greens in reg.

28 scratch handicap. My handicap is floating around 2, played courses where that is scratch off the yellows. Does that count? 🤞

24 for me, just missing shoot under par, albatross, under par 9. bogey free, scratch, break 70 not likely to do them either, only had 300 yd drive cos there was a 50mph wind at my back and a hard fairway.
I would add 31 shoot your age (which I have done.

 You forgot

Broke Driver
Broke Iron
Broke more than 3 putters

Whilst I review the list.

10. Albatross. Does holing out on a shortened par 4 (temp tee to temp green) count...and at what length does it stop to count?

Only three not done to be sure off
get an albatross , attend a major (attending a major has never been on my bucket list) and get to scratch.

One possibly 18 greens in reg (or less) may have done that but it would have been many years ago, one of the times I broke 70 possibly and would have been when one of the holes was a par 5 now a par 4.

As already said I have seen this list before and nothing has changed for me but many milestones were achieved many years ago.

All except

Albatross
Attend a major
18 greens in regulation
Scratch handicap

Could tick one of them off fairly easily I suppose.

And

31. Play a round with clubs that are more than 45 years old. ✔️
despite playing for nearly 50 years that is a 'milestone' I have never achieved.
