Really struggling with my driver at the moment but my 3 wood is going reasonably well but its only a cheep one.
Can anyone recommend a good 3 wood with a good size face not one of the low profile type.

Tough one this.
You really need to get to a shop with a range and just try a few.
Either a pro shop or a driving range and get some expert help fronm a PGA Pro on which shaft you need.
You could also try out a few new drivers while your there.
Good luck

I have the previous model taylormade burner 3 and 5 woods and they are brilliant. I regularly use the 3 as a driver replacement. They have fairly shallow faces, but that will help you get the ball in the air.
You can probably pick one up for peanuts now.

Taylor Made. R5 dual ti. 185cc head. regular re:ax fujikura graphite.
You might need to wait some time for one to crop up, but it will soon enough.
When they came out, they were silly money and got ignored (nobody wanted to spend driver money on a 3). I got mine online for £79.99 Ended up less than £69 i.i.r.c.
Highly recommended......

Have you considered using a high launch driver *instead* of a 3 wood. I did this for 2-3 months. You get the 460cc head of a driver but more confidence.

I used both the other day at a forum meet, and the 3 wood was nowhere near as good as the driver????? just goes to show, 3 woods are good, but why not enjoy the forgivess of a massive head.
