This is 3 clubs and a putter.

Im thinking 3 wood 7 iron 52 degree wedge.

Can hit a 3 wood off the deck. Can Thin a Seven Iron! and can hit a 52 degree from anywhere!

What would you take and why ?

WW

Rescue - 7iron - 54 SW

Rescue gives me a good chance of getting up at most par 4s in two and is easy to hit in between yardages up from the 7iron.
7 iron obvious choice.
54* covers anything from 115 and in.

Was thinking about that earlier, even though ours isn't until March lol

4 Rescue
7 Iron
GW
Putter

Rescue is long enough off the tee but comes into play out of semi rough, which at our place is not suitable for a 3 wood.
7 iron will suit 3 out of the 4 par 3 holes exactly and easy enough to hit from anywhere else, plus chipping.
GW about 115 yds plus control fir shorter shots but should have enough loft to get out of any bunkers.

hasn't there been a few threads like this lately? worth searching and you'll see all the answers as I believe there was many;)

3 iron
6 iron
9 iron

I hit 3 iron around 220 off the tee and around 200 off the deck, so most par fours covered
6 iron is my go to club and would also look after most of our par 3's
and the 9 to keep things symmetrical, can use it 'lots' for chipping around the green

I actually think most h/c golfers would shoot lower scores if they didn't carry so many clubs. I bet most peoples 3 club scores are not that far away from their normal scores...

I would go with my 19 degree hybrid, my 7 iron and my gap wedge. That would cover me for most eventualities.

i'd go

driver (might as well go for the big dog off the tee i hit very few 3 woods in a normal round anyways)
6 iron (good for 165 and down)
sand wedge (chipping and envitable bunkers)

What about the big par 5s! Off the deck ?

WW

with the 3 clubs i would be driving it 250 driver + 160 6 iron + 90 yards sand wedge = 500 yards good enough for most par 5's

if the driving mucks up id take two 6 irons in

i think taking a three wood is a waste your gaining marginally by being able to hit it off the deck on a few long holes, but loosing out on pretty much every par 4&5 off the tee
a three wood is also hard to hit of the deck anyways

Plus i love hitting the big dog couldn't leave it out

I won one of these comps where I was the only one to take driver.

I took Driver, 7 iron, putter and scored 33 points off 11 to win. The next year someone off 24 scored 42 points !:whoo:(there should be a bandit smiley)

19 degree rescue as I can still get that a long way out there from the tee and I would use it for putting.
Trusty old 7 Iron for mid range shots and the trusty old chip and run.
54 degree wedge for my pitch shots and the obvious, getting out of bunkers.

Should not have a problem on most holes with those clubs. The rescue and 7 iron can whack the ball about 390ish between them. Put the sand wedge on top and can hit most par 5's in 3.

Probably just take a 21 hybrid. Put two balls in my pocket, and I'm set. No bag, no junk to hike round. Should be fun. Can putt with it, chip, choke it down a bit, drive with it. The only thing it can't do is bunkers, but as it is stable ford, I'd just pick up.

I am going to do this next time we are on temporary greens and see how I get on.
