This October I am taking 12 ladies to play golf in Bournemouth. The first day we are playing at Parkstone playing an individual stableford but the next day we are at Broadstone and I need a format for a 3 ball team event. Better Ball stableford is a bit boring, can anybody suggest any unusual or different formats preferably playing their own ball (not a scramble)

Thanks in advance :)

Some ideas here => http://www.golfalot.com/LucyLocket/Formats.aspx#3player

I have played Split Sixes, good fun, but only really works for the 3-ball, not alongside 3 other 3-balls.

I like the idea of string ball. Takes a bit of organising, but would be really fun. Just issue all the string then the winner is simply the one with the fewest shots. Might be a bit time consuming though!

have fun

All 3 scores on par 3s, all 3 scores on par 5s, and best two on par 4s.

Or, yellow ball. always fun. Yellow ball scores double stableford points, it rotates through the 3 players, but if lost, the player who would have been playing it on subsequent holes scores zero. All scores to count.

How about this one? Best to make sure that all groups have a fair mix of handicaps.

All 3 Stableford scores count on every hole and are multiplied together on each hole.

Examples

On hole 1 all players in team get 1 point each. 1x1x1 = 1 team point.

Hole 2 1 player gets 3 points, 1 player gets 2 points and 1 player gets 1 point. 3x2x1 = 6 team points.

Hole 3 each player gets 3 points. 3x3x3 = 27 team points.

Wait for it.........

Hole 4. 1 player gets 4 points. 1 player gets 3 points. 3rd player gets a blob. 4x3x0 = 0 team points.

Concentrates the mind somewhat

We play a BMW at our club. Each player off of full handicap. First hole - best score counts, 2nd hole - middle score counts, 3rd hole - worst score counts. We usually play it as a medal but a stableford would work just as well
