Is anyone considering taking their holidays abroad this year or are you more likely to do something in the UK? I was hoping to go abroad but even if it is permitted I'm not sure that I would want to unless things improve dramatically in the next couple of months which I can't see happening.

We're not planning any breaks away anywhere this year...
If we do have time off it'll be that lamest of lame words ...a Staycation....I feel itchy just typing it..

Ski trip was cancelled in March and our summer holiday which was a rented cottage in the Scottish highlands in August was cancelled by the owner weeks ago.

So will be stopping at home, fortunate enough to be able to have both the sea and Lakeland fells within 20-25 minutes and very easy to find quiet places.

Might even get to play golf...

We are booked to go to Holland in August. My feeling is the flights will be on, the airbnb available but I don't want to go and find major restrictions are in place. My summer holiday is about relaxing, enjoying another country. If all I see is face masks and entry restrictions then there is no point in going. Looking at the respective websites we will likely have to take a voucher from the airline, fair enough, and we will lose our deposit on the arirbnb. Better to lose £250 than spend more and feel uncomfortable for a week. We will decide at the end of this month.

The question now is do we book a week in this country, we are tied to first week in August, or do we write off this years holiday. For someone who loves their holidays that is a major question.

We've still got 2 weeks booked in Spain from 31st July, have a Villa booked through Villa Plus and flights with BA. We've made enquires is it still going ahead and at the moment they say it is. I'm obviously far from convinced on that front but no cancellation so far.

If it was deemed safe to go, then yeah I'd still go and happily social distance whilst out there.

If we can get away, we'll try to get some time in our caravan. There'll still be restrictions but at least it can get us out. I've been told I have to take 25% of my holiday entitlement by end of June (our holiday period is 1st Jan to 31st December). I took 3 days off for the missus birthday and looks like the remainder will also be at home.
The trouble is, we can't go anywhere unless we can put the Father-in-Law in a home for respite but goodness knows when we can be confident that it will be safe enough to do that.

and we will lose our deposit on the arirbnb.
I would contact Airbnb if I was you. I have an Airbnb place in Ireland and I've had cancellations and they are returning the full deposit. It is nothing to do with the hosts, we don't get ANY money until the day after people have arrived.

So far we have cancelled three, two UK based trips already this year and one abroad.

Thankfully no money lost on all of them so now waiting to see if we can move things around. It really depends as currently arrivals to the country go into two week quarantine...

For the UK based ones I have plans to move them to the summer and autumn if the weather holds up that long.

European based trips are far too expensive these days anyway so no plans to do those for a good few years unless we go as a large family group.

I think we will stick to the holiday home type UK breaks and Centreparcs.

Week in Spain refunded by Jet2 for June, won't be risking it this year. Can't see us going anywhere in the UK either, have found most places to be a bit of a rip off.

We have a week in Turkey in September
Open mind at the moment, I’m certainly not cancelling yet as I’d lose the money I paid,
Waiting for the airlines to make the first move, which they won’t do until much nearer the time

I was due to holiday in the UK next month but looks like it'll still be one of the dangerzones by then
i guess i'll have a battle to get the flight money back even though it was the airline that cancelled the flights (not us)

According to their website they are refunding for bookings up to a certain date, June 15th at the moment, if you booked before the lockdown, we did. After that it is between you and the host, according to them. I will do as you suggest, no harm. Thanks for that (y)

Not booking anything till things settle down a bit. I have till August to cancel accommodation for the Islay trip in Sept/Oct. Lucky to live in a village where I can open my door any walk in any direction. I think loosening of restrictions will bump the stats as not everyone will be sensible. So that will guide the issue.

We were supposed to be flying out next week to Cape Verde. That is obviously out now, so is rebooked for 1 years time instead. Wont be doing anything for the rest of this year.

This virus is going to be with us for awhile yet I certainly won’t be booking any flights abroad, 2 week quarantine for flights except Ireland and France anyway and who knows how long that will be in place, I’m even wary of booking a internal flight in this country so probably won’t even do that.

Once we feel it is safe to do so we'll probably restrict ourselves to a stay with friends in South Wales... Not far from the coast and some good cycling to be had... Could, if it's possible, indulge in a game at Tenby...

Where were you going? We had two lovely holidays in Cavtat near to Dubrovnik.

The Mrs was going to be the key speaker at a conference in Dubrovnik. Once that was over, we were getting the ferry to Split, and then on a self guided (you get directions) walking tour, Island hopping, back to Dubrovnik and a bit beyond. It looked lovely, and had a host of 4 star hotels lined up.
