what's everyones goals for next season?

now that i have 1 full season under my belt i'm hoping for a much better start to the 2012 season than i had this season.i'm trying to play at least once a week over the winter so i can play well from the get go,that's the plan anyway.

i want to be in the mix with the club championship at both killin and callander and my handicap goal is 3.

Just got my first season under my belt and am aiming to reduce my handicap down to under 23. I also want to birdie every hole at my course, Iv'e done 3,4,9 and 18 so far.

Not setting any goals as they become a hinderance rather than an incentive. I'm looking forward to playing a few forum meets, trying to get cut here and there and maybe pick up a win at some point. If I achieve that great if not cest la vie. As long as I enjoy it, meet some decent people and get a few rays of sun on my back whats not to like

aiming to play with more freedom.... in both a physical and mental sense. I've realised the basic swing is there and I just need to get the best out of it now. with the time I can give to it, a 7 hcp is realistic, with the odd low gross round to challenge in the big comps

I made my handicap goal this year - very happy with that. .

Next year aiming to get to 16.

PB is now 81 (par 70 course) so would like to equal that or shoot 1 better.

Also would like to go round with nothing more than a double on any hole at least once :)

I fear the last one may be my achilles heel for now

improve my short game immensely and get to 1.9- never been close so a big ask but I believe I can do it

Enjoy my first year in the 55 & over's playing off single figures (for the first time).

Enjoy my golf more, I AM NOT A PRO, I DO NOT EARN MY LIVING THRO GOLF, SO WHY o WHY DO I LET IT STRESS ME?? No more in 2012, in fact I will be calm from now on

Handicap goal is 12 which is in the original 5 year plan! Was going to reduce that to 10 but know I'll get too hung up on the number which won't be a positive for me.

Play the Old Course.

Manage my injuries better !

Most importantly to continue to enjoy this beautiful game :)

Can't really set any goals until I know where I'll be playing next year. With the decision on the High speed Rail link - that, if it goes ahead on the proposed route, will slice a large chunk off the course - due in December, if the route stays the same you can guarantee that no investment will be made in the club/course even if it's not due to come through for another few years. Standards will fall and the time to jump ship will be sooner rather than later. 500-odd people all looking for a new club at the same time could make life hard work.
That change of club may mean a settling in period, getting used to greens, slopes and bail-out areas - which in turn will most likely lead to some .1's rather than cuts.

In fact, my goal for next year will be to continue playing golf!

Having rejoined a club half way thru the season had a settling in period over now so want to get back to single figures so 9.4 first aim, and just enjoy some comps and play some different quality courses

Start at a new club on Feb 1st, don't know anyone at that course so settling in and getting used to how to play the thing will be the first goal. Making their "A" team, a change to 4BBB from 4somes in league matches will be a nice change.

I want to try to play in the English Mid Amateur so could do without any h'cap increases over the early part of the season. My new club has a good short game practice area close to the clubhouse so will be working on improving that part of the game.

Like I said at this time last year, my goals are:

1. Drive it in the fairway
2. Break 90 (more often)

Everything else will take care of itself if I can do these things.

Mine would be to start shooting good scores in medals. I'm able to go low in bounce games off the whites and in Matchplay comps, but struggle in a stroke play comp. I've even shot 4 under gross for 16 holes in one of the matchplay's with no puts given, just struggle in comps, which is where it really matters.

Fed up with being called a bandit in the rollups then going out on a Medal and shoot 90 :(

I like the target to birdie every hole on my course think I will adopt that target.

I would like to get my handicap down to 18 from 21 and Par or better 9+ holes in a round.

Enjoyed my 1st season but putting kills my game so maybe I should have a target of a 32 putt round, last time out shot 34 points with 46 putts!!!

1. Enjoy my golf as much as this year
2. Play some new courses and go to a forum meet (woodhall)
3. Play in some local(ish) open comps

That's pretty much it. Struggle to be too specific re handicap as I have very little time to play/practice between work and young family and equally, because of that, don't want to be too harsh on myself!

Having joined a club in the summer (Ombersely) I didn't play in any medals or comps despite playing weekly.
My aims will be:
1 - Play some medals/comps to get my handicap
2 - Once I get a handicap, try and improve it - Unsure what it'll be, PAR is 72 and my last three rounds were 88,85 & 98.
3 - Enjoy it!! Think that is definitely to key to golf at my level, I'm never gonna be a pro or win millions of £££'s so I may as well try and smile whilst playing!!
