2012 is nearly up,what's been your Highlights and Lowlights??

Highs:

My first full year at my club and meeting so many great & interesting people: Winning at Blackmoor H4H: Winning my first ever golf trophy in my first season at my club: Seeing Chelsea win the European Cup:

Lows:

Closing down a 12 year old business: Not getting handicap cut as much as I wanted: British Weather:

Summary:

A real mixed bag. Will be glad to see the back of 2012 in terms of business/work but still have some legal battles to come in the New Year. However, really got into my golf, more so in the latter part of the year and looking for significant cut/s during 2013 whilst playing more courses and meeting many GM members.

The golf is helping me switch off from the pressures elsewhere so I'll just have to play more.....;)

Highs
Taking my Grandson to Hampden to watch Spain play Japan in the Olympics.
Playing my best round of golf for 20 years.
Finally properly retiring after 15 years of part time and hobby jobs.

Lows
Can't think of any.

Highs - H4H at Blackmoor and the Camberley meet too. A solitary under par round coupled with keeping Fragger at bay (just!). Enjoying my golf even when playing like a tart. Away from Golf the main high was a smooth transition from Junior to Secondary School for The Boy. A good first term for him and, importantly, he likes it!
Downs - not playing as well as I can for large chunks of the year pains me, the probable closure of my course/club due to an unnecessary train line and the quality of the weather. Also, this sodding 'flu I picked up on Xmas day - it's doing my head in. Sick and tired of being sick and tired..

High's - birth of our first child 12 weeks ago (a very healthy baby girl)
Winning the doubles matchplay and getting our name up on the board

Lows
Car crash back in May still not resolved!

Highs: finally getting my house sorted & no longer needing to do any work to it.
Shooting a PB of 73 and doing it in a competition.
Edging towards my 2nd dan grading in taekwondo

Lows: idiot crashing into me before the kent meet up writing my car off and still awaiting a pay out to get something sorted.
My golf overall being pretty poor most of the year.
Plus hating my job and the hours I do.

This was my first full year as a member of club. Started the year off 10.0

Highlights
Getting cut to 5.3 especially as I started the day at 6.5, 1 great round and I was cat1
Played Ailsa and Royal Troon
Got my 1st eagle, 6 in total now
Played a hole with Monty and beating him at closest to the pin

Lowlights
Getting cut to 5 and losing confidence in being able to play to it. Get back to 5 and repeating
Weather

All in all a good year for gowf

highs: Taking up this wonderful game. Having fun improving my play.

Lows: My wife Nicky health she suffers with m.e/cfs and is getting worse. The british weather stopping me getting out and playing. My job and hours i work. The benefit system and they way it works

Highs - Partners continued recovery from leukemia :D, started playing this game, travelled california and won in vegas. Got a kitten.

LOWS............Losing the singles matchplay handicap final , getting my home broken into for the 2nd time in a year , the weather this year

Highs- Winning my driving range's club championship with a +6 gross round of 67 and getting out on the course with therod, SyR, Midnight, Richart, Swinger, Paperboy, Philly169 and others I may have forgotten. I barely played this year but the people I played with made those some of the best rounds every. Also leaving my job to move back in with my wife.

Highs - watching my son develop at nursery

Lows - phoning the ambulance to get my grandad who had a suspected stroke on my sons 3rd birthday. Turned out to be a golf ball sized brain tumor. Just finished kemo and all fingers are crossed.

Pretty crap year...

Highs...................easy.
Olympics, Paralympics & Ryder Cup.........all utterly magnificent & inspiring. I was actually there for Bolt's 100m Olympic final!

Lows...................easy.
Being told I'd have to quit golf, skiing & footy for six months following my shoulder surgery which is actually happening tomorrow, that's right, New Year's Bloody Eve. Won't be celebrating that then !
