Obviously not an official handicap, but I do track all my scores on Golfers Diary and after Sundays expolits around vig's track at Mid Yorkshire when we whipped the NW boys, my handicap went from 17.5 to 16.8, meaning todays game with vig around Tinsley in Sheffield I was playing off 17.

Well today, playing off 17 I came in with 40pts and after entering the score I have now got a handicap of 16.3 meaning my next journey out is off 16 :D :D :D

Its dead easy this golf lark!!

Had a decent game today, gross 83 and I 3 putted on 4 greens which was very dissapointing, my driving today though was absolutely superb.

Playing on Thursday & Friday, I wonder if I can get my handicap down to 15 by the end of the weekend :D lol

Considering 3 months ago I was really struggling to play to 23 I am over the moon now!

How long are you going to keep ramming the scores for the N.W match down our throats :D great scoring mate, think i did say on sunday you are a better player than an 18 h/capper and guess what fella, im right, great effort, keep doing it, boy :D :D

Cheers lads!

I think there is a good 2-3 weeks of ramming said scores down your throat fella before the fun wears off ;)

Seriously though, my only fear is that pretty soon we're going to get busy again at work and my midweek sneaky 2 x 18 hole games will disappear....along with my new lower handicap.

I know my handicap is tumbling because of the amount i'm playing, you reap what you sow and all that malarky!

my handicap went from 17.5 to 16.8,

First of all well done on your 2 rounds , you've got yourself into a nice groove there

My other point is , not sure how you lose 0.5 of a stroke (going from 16.8 to 16.3). Playing off 17 (cat 3) and you had 40 pts surely that would be 4 x 0.3 = 1.2 cut. Even if SSS was lower then dont see how you get .5 when each stroke is a .3 cut ??

Just an observation nothing sinister about this post ;)

I'm not sure how Golfers Diary works it out, I think it bases my handicap on my best 10 entered scores, so if the 83 I have just entered has replaced say a 90 or something, its going to make quite a difference.

As I said in the OP though, its not official but it must be a true reflection of how I am playing as it does go of SSS and not just par.
