2 Questions please guys ,,

Colin , Duncan , Rulefan & others , how long did it take ye guys to get to where ye are today rules knowledge wise ?

Ive gotten a bigger interest since i came on here and started reading this section etc , just wondering how long it took ye guys to get to where ye are and to have the confidence to say , yep thats the rule etc

Any tips etc on expanding knowledge , i do the R&A rules quiz on their website but its bit easier with the options to choose from

About 25 years of serious consideration ( first role as competition secretary) then more seriously from about 5 years ago.

Best advice I can give is to always look around the current discussion topic to get both additional/new information and to review any new information against the wider understanding ie if you find a bone act like a dog!

It took me about 2/3 years to qualify after I decided to get serious about it. Try getting to grips with the Definitions and see if that whets your appetite.

When you have finished work your was slowly through the rules themselves. You will see the sequence is pretty logical in that is follows the pattern of a game. Preparation, starting, playing, problems encountered on the way, finishing and follow up.

Don't bother with the decisions unless you have a real life problem.
