a Question for those who might have played it, the OOB left and right on the first any reason for this and is it still the case for normal play on the course?

seems a strange set up with both so close to the playing area!

Standard for normal play. I think it dates back to when they didn't own the adjacent land (but now do).

And as the course has developed they’ve always kept that historically as out of bounds. And we felt that was highly appropriate to do so this year as we’ve rebuilt the course. We try to stay true to how the course is played.”

Right has a short game area maybe up to 150 yards and a practice bunker.

I like the fact the R&A have nodded to tradition and kept it. As we saw yesterday, it can make real hole in a round from the start.

I wasn't that aware of the OB when I played..... but I went into the bunker left of the green. i had to call for ropes and crampons to get out! It doesn't seem that deep on the tv!

I looked at it yesterday. It's a long oul wack to even reach the fairway.

You mean like Rory did (hit an iron; not find the fairway - and didn't on the reload either!)
