If there's one thing this thread proves, it is that the odds of having a hole in one (I read that for the "average" golfer it is something like 12,000 to 1) are not far from the truth!
Those expecting them to happen one day are, I'm afraid to say, likley to be very disappointed. Those of us who have had them are just lucky.
The PGA pro I see for lessons used to play on the Tour, and he has only ever had one. And this is a top player I am talking about here, who has hit thousands of balls (the vast majority of them extremely well!!!).
I think that puts it into perspective for the weekend players amongst us!
