19deg 5 wood vs 19 deg hybrid

I've just had a r15 5hl 21degree to bridge the gap of a 3 wood and 4 iron.

And i hit it loads higher and softer landing than a hybrid

I've constantly struggled with hybrids, hence my 19* in the for-sale section now. The top of my bag is now Driver, 4w, 7w then drops to my 4i and I'm happy with that.

The 4w and 7w gives me options off the tee on long par 3's and off the fairways and my 4i is great for 2nd punch shots up par 5's and chipping out of trees

As title says what are the difference.

I was of the impression that a 5-wood has a lower center of gravity thereby hitting the ball more UP than a hybrid might.... or something like that :p

Although that might be completely wrong

Out of interest... would a 5-wood have the same length shaft as a hybrid of the same loft?

As you can tell I'm not an equipment junkie - I just hit what I have in my hand
