I took my youngest son out today for 18 holes and he amazed me. His ball striking was better than mine. He started off with a double on the 1st then had 4 pars, he had a 2 at the 8th which took him back to 2 over, he bogied the 9th. 3 over after 9. A good drive down 10 followed by a duff 2nd he played back onto fairway leaving himself 100 yrds to green (par 5) yes you guessed it he holed his putt for par. Standing on the 11th tee 3 over (playing off 18) he hit a rescue onto green and holed out for his 2nd 2 of the round. He missed his birdie on 12 then doubled 13, another chance of a 2 at the 14th but just slid by. He bogied the 15th. (5 over) Our 16th has a shuck running across it (par 5), yep he drove into it, thus having to drop a ball, line of entry. Low and be hold he made a par. 5 over through 16 holes not bad for a wee squirt. Our 17th is a real card killer, we're always happy even with a 5 any day of the week. So he drove up right hand side of fairway stuck behind a tree, he played just to get over the tree and leave himself with about 100 yrds to green, yep 2 putts and his card was still going. Our 18th par 5, a 3 shotter for him yes thats the way he played it and 2 putted for a par.

Just thought I would share his best round so far.
I was 4 over for the same round.
It was my 2nd 18 of today, in total I played 42 holes today I never got a 2, let alone get 2 of them.
