I have 13 clubs in my bag, love golf and spending my money on new shinies but i just can't figure out how to get the 14th club in there...

My current set up

Driver Titleist 910D2 10 degrees
Fairway wood Titlesit 910f 15.75 degrees
Hybrid Adams A12 Pro 20 degrees
Irons 4-PW MixunoJPX825 22 degres to 45 degrees
Wedges Mizuno R12 51 & 58 degrees
Putter Odyssey No.1

My irons use to be 3-PW but these new mizuno's start with a 4 iron .... hence now im in this predicament :mmm:

Any ideas ?

if it were me, (i like spending money and new shineys too!)

I would make a few changes...

Sell the hybrid you have and buy 2, a 19deg and a 24deg. the 24 (ish) will be close loft to your 4 iron, but will give you options from rough and tee.

Then i would gap the wedges better, maybe just get a pro to bend the 51 to 52 and the 58 down to 57 ish. then you will have all angles covered IMHO and it doesn't cost much (or anything)

There you go, thats my 2p of what I would do.

It's a pretty good shout to be fair and there was/is 2 Adams Hybrids on sale currently from thecraw 18 and 23 deg.

same here.

I just switched to JPXpro too after having mp62 that were 3-pw.

At the moment i'v got a mates hifli 3 iron in the bag, but not used it apart from 1 tee shot, with the distance the JPX go i don't think i need a 3 iron anymore , just can't get past the thought of not having one.

I'm really tempted by a chipper, my short game is my weakest link..

Just can't help thinking other golfers will look down on me or even shun me if i went for a chipper......?

I'm not saying you would be shunned by fellow golfers, but you would have to leave the forum :D

never had 14 clubs..........so don't feel the need that you must have 14.

However, a 3 iron is a very useful club to have

i am a big advcate of the "many wedges theory". i think you could easily stick a 55/56 in there. ive been having some serious doubts about the 52/58 set up that many on here live by. i think this set up pushes people to use their lob wedge a little to much.

you have room for 2 extra clubs. get a SW in there!

i agree my 4 iron is equivalent to my old mp 3 iron distance wise i don't think i need another iron that goes further, i just have an urge to get a 14th club in there somewhere?

normally i would agree

but i play on a links course, most of the bunkers are pot, very steeped face, so i use my 58 degree as my sand wedge, which has 10 degres of bounce, i found it i go higher the bounce goes down, a 60 degree has about 6 degrees something like that, which i don't think is as good for bunker shots.

as far as i am aware you can get lower and higher bounce on every wedge including 60 lob wedges.

what i am saying is stick a 56 in. im not saying use it from the sand. im saying use it from the fairway. this means you wont be tempted to use your 58 unless its absolutly neccessary.
