I've played Alicante and El Plantio. El Plantio is nice, but Alicante was my favourite. Designed by Seve, 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's. Set in a holiday home complex, and loads of water. Beautful course.

No brainer Deke, got to be Scotscraig. We play it every winter (£25 a round) and it is always in superb condition. If it doesn't float your boat. Drumoig is pretty good, excellent practice facilities too.

Good putter. Good putting (and short game) hides a multitude of sins. One of the guys I play with is a really short hitter and all over the place, but can pitch and putt like god. Kicks my ass (and wins the money) nearly every week.

Seeing the strike, getting good compression on the ball, hitting it flush. Ingraining swing changes/improvements before taking them to the course. Better than doing nothing (hopefully!) :D

Thanks for the reply Homer. The missus is very understanding! I know it's not the same as hitting balls into the wild blue yonder. It would supplement my normal practice, and I'm working on the theory that concentrating solely on the quality of the strike would be a good thing. Just imagine...
