I can appreciate that comment from athletes such as runners, cyclists, weightlifters, baseball etc. Sports where steroids, while not allowed of course are susceptible to athletes using them, and fans of the respective sports have become almost conditioned to it.
To make the question accurate and...
No.1 Golfer in the world.
"Best" golfer the world has seen.
More majors than Jack Nicklaus.
First billionaire sportsman etc etc
To risk all the above, PLUS the integrity of the game of golf itself by taking steroids, which have very limited potential for improving golfing ability.

Obviously I've been following the Tiger tale of the last few weeks. I do think that certain quarters of the media and other forums are getting a bit giddy from being so far up the moral high ground. I didn't realise how many puritanical people live such perfect lives!
So he was a mad sh**ger...
Kirsty Gallagher???? (the lucky bugger)
Apparently the dalliance with the TV presenter happened when they were both single, so that doesn't go onto the "Transgression Tally"
I've played Alicante and El Plantio. El Plantio is nice, but Alicante was my favourite.
Designed by Seve, 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's. Set in a holiday home complex, and loads of water. Beautful course.
No brainer Deke, got to be Scotscraig. We play it every winter (£25 a round) and it is always in superb condition.

Good putter.
Good putting (and short game) hides a multitude of sins.
One of the guys I play with is a really short hitter and all over the place, but can pitch and putt like god. Kicks my ass (and wins the money) nearly every week.
Seeing the strike, getting good compression on the ball, hitting it flush. Ingraining swing changes/improvements before taking them to the course.
Better than doing nothing (hopefully!) :D
Thanks for the reply Homer. The missus is very understanding!
I know it's not the same as hitting balls into the wild blue yonder. It would supplement my normal practice, and I'm working on the theory that concentrating solely on the quality of the strike would be a good thing.
Just imagine...
Hi All,
Just had the back and side of the house slabbed. I've been thinking of acquiring a golf mat for practicing my full swing on. There's just enough room for a net, but to be honest I'd rather do without the hassle of putting it up and taking it down every night (let's call that Plan B).
