One problem i have found with custom fit when the lie or other things are changed is that it can reinforce a bad part of your swing. For me I have a flat dynamic lie which causes a mega hook in normal clubs, but my irons' lie angle has been reduced and now to hit straight I have to swing it...
From my small amount of research it seems that many people change due the way it helps alignment, but have yet to see many articles/people mention pace of the putts with this technique. If this technique isn't good with the pace of the putt then I can't see it taking off, even if it drastically...
Must have recently happened as I went on the website a few weeks ago. Also my pro shop still has a few MD clubs in stock, including their driving irons that were very reasonably priced
Anything is better than nothing, on our 7th and 16th the divots are barely replaced and are not replaced by a grass mixture, it has got to the stage where we can place the ball on those fairways because there's too many divots
Surely 1% is still quite a high figure, it's more than once every other round. If all you care about bunker shots is to get them out and not getting up and down, then you're likely to lose a shot every other round
I think practicing shots that come up rarely is quite beneficial when you find yourself in those shots and suddenly your confidence is up. Whereas sometimes practising full shots and correcting based on wherever the ball ends up less helpful or even detrimental to your game if you don't have...
Depending on your driving range I find it good practice to use as many of the markers, posts, etc to aim at. For example I may use 2 posts as a pretend fairway for driver/ 3 wood, or a single post as an imaginary pin for shorter clubs. I also try to hit different shot shapes, i.e. high or low or...
My only hole-in-one has come from a par 3 where you cant see the bottom of the pin, it was also in a match so i wasn't really able to celebrate when i found out it had gone in the hole. Thus I think all par 3's where you cant see the hole should be banned in case people get into the same...
I have the opposite problem, I launch my irons too high as a result I am scared to hit a hybrid with loft greater than 21*. I do hit hybrids better than long irons, just the wind is too much of a problemo
I have the lighter versions of the dynamic gold in my iron shafts, simply because i prefer the feel, but I've never compared them to the weight of a similar spec graphite shaft. Has anyone here done so?
