I've probably posted this before but...
A few years ago I listened to a radio interview with a tarmac specialist.
The main theme was " why do roads wear out so quickly "
He said that he could make you a tarmac that would never wear out....but you'd be changing your tyres every 3 months....
Or...
Further on the pothole theme...
As a driving instructor for 2p years I drove down virtually every road in my town...
2 interesting points revealed themselves....and I appreciate this may not be what everyone else sees.
1. The majority of potholes appear off the " normal" driving...
There's been a few holes repaired near the golf club in the last couple of weeks...they're already crumbling and with the frost tonight..they'll explode
We also have SI 1 closed...a 400 yard par 4...we have an emergency hole that comes into play if another is closed..it's a 130 yard par 3...someone got 5 points on it the other day🤣
At the moment..yes...
The 18th tee and first 300 yards are so wet they can barely walk on it without drowning...so, for now, they've moved the tee up to the first area that's dry enough...still says Par 5 on the card🤣
We had an Albatross yesterday..on our 18th....477 yards but a down, up, down and up hole...
Drives normally pitch on the upslope so little run....
Albatross made with a 6 iron, 1 putt combo.
Not bad.....
Although the tee was 320 yards forward as the proper tee was closed and the hole measured...
According to our Head Greeny, all we need is 2 or 3 dry days on the bounce and the course will be back to normal - no temps, no closed holes, trolleys allowed...
Right...that means about the middle of May then.......😩
Apparently, in practice at Pebble, Bhatia was hitting full out mini drivers into the par 3 107 yard 7th hole...something like a 10 club wind....tad breezy then..🤣🤣
It's worth a try but I wouldn't be expecting great changes just going regular to stiff in the same shaft.
As has been said, one brand's regular is another brand's stiff..
Weight is more important, followed by length.....get those 2 right and the flex kind of falls into place.
Why do you care?
If you don't like,e it, ignore it.
I don't like LIV so I ignore it...
My life is so much better for it..
You should try it instead of persisting with things you don't like...
