Spectacular service but.... When you order something online, after the Xmas delivery shipping deadline, specifically to arrive after Xmas and you get an email at 7.30am Xmas Eve to tell you it's going to be delivered at 12.15 when you're likely most of the way up the M6 isn't hugely helpful...

I'm not usually first to play the 2nd shot so while Fragger or CVG sort their lives out I've already zapped the flag and adjusted the pin position on the GPS to the right yardage. Get to my ball, glance at the GPS and no time wasted at all.

My heel is still playing up and we're off to the In-laws tomorrow 190 miles and the furthest I've driven since the heel problem is 20.. So I've had to put The Boy on the insurance for a week just in case..... Good job it only cost 7 quid😁

Exact yardage is a start Where is the pin in relation to the front, middle or back? A long green can be 3 clubs difference front to back. If the pin is 3/4s of the way to the back I'd club down a bit to avoid going over the back - worst place on many or our greens - or if it's 1/4 on then more...

I won't be playing until, at least, 29th and then it will be weather dependent Course is open all over Xmas with access to the changing rooms but the clubhouse and shop will be shut. I can't imagine the greenkeepers will be there either day but if they are it'll only be for a couple of hours...

GPS until I'm in range of the green and then Laser to get the accurate yards I transfer the yards to the GPS, moving the flag to an approximate position on the screen I then have pretty accurate distances of hazard carries and the amount of green I have to work with.

Believe me, if i fully understood them myself I'd be only too pleased........
